“Highlight of our trip!”
Reviewed August 30, 2013 via mobile

After a disappointing trip to Ponce we were looking for something really different and fun to redeem our lost day. Seeing an add for east island excursions on a travel map we'd gotten my husband decided to call and check availability. With tons of luck we booked a snorkeling trip out to Iacocca island to snorkel with them just 2 days prior. When we arrived in fajardo to check in the staff was friendly and helpful and the site of the marina was amazing. We boarded our boat (a 65 foot catamaran with a water slide) and found a table next to the bar. The crew was incredibly friendly, the entire atmosphere was fun and relaxing. They played some tunes on the radio, served us drinks (included) and headed to the island. There after overcoming our shock at the site of turquoise waters and white sandy beaches we anchored and practiced some snorkeling. I had never done this before, I have a terrible fear of the ocean but they were so helpful it was easy! After swimming for a bit we were served an awesome buffet style lunch and headed to the deeper parts to snorkel over coral reefs. The boat was amazing, the crew was great (Maria made a mean piña colada) the entire experience is something we will always treasure. Next year we plan to return for our annual Puerto Rican vaca and I can tell you we will be going on every tour east island offers. Thanks a million!!! Sincerely, the Skipp family, NY

“Great service and fun too!”
Reviewed August 29, 2013 via mobile

We had booked a trip in advance, however on the day of the trip a family member got sick. The rest of us went there and explained the situation to the girl checking everybody in, and she made a call and accommodated us right away! We were all able to go the next day together when the family situation was under control at no extra cost.. Really appreciate the ease of dealing with them and the understanding they showed. Thank you!!!!!!!
And the next day the excursion was awesome. We went to culebra.. The ride was extremely bumpy going in.. People were throwing up all over the place. But after that was done the snorkeling was gorgeous. Few people in our group were not very comfortable snorkeling and they gave them lessons and stayed with them till they got comfortable in the water. No amount of time is enough time to spend on flamenco beach... But it was the most beautiful beach ever! A lady on the boat misplaced her fins on the beach and was struggling to get back to the boat.. I went back to the boat and informed them and the instructor took back fins for her and guided her back. Overall a great experience!!!

“Excursion to Culebra on Island Flyer”
Reviewed August 28, 2013

We went on the Island Flyer excursion to Culebra last Aug 16, 2013. We initially thought it was pricey, but after the trip, we thought it was worth every penny. This was the best snorkelling excursion we have ever been on. We stopped at a reef where we did most of the snorkelling and then stopped at Flamenco Beach, which is absolutely one the best beaches in the world. I was very impressed with how the crew took care of anyone who felt sea sick on the way to Culebra. They were all very helpful and Chris was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. Everyone had fun and sang along with Chris as he lip synced and danced on the way back. The food and open bar was also excellent. Can't wait to go back and go on this excursion again, hopefully with the same crew!

“Fun trip”
Reviewed August 28, 2013

We took the snorkeling trip to Icacos island. Overall a good trip, food was decent. I didn't like that beer was not included in drinks. Snorkeling spot is just ok nothing great. Staff was good and helpful, but we have had better experience on similar excursions in other places.

“Beware of this company!”
Reviewed August 27, 2013

Just a note to alert everyone about a trip that is advertised as “Flamenco Beach, Culebra Snorkeling Tour“ and described as follows: “Enjoy a full day of snorkeling, blue waters, and white sands in one of the top ten most famous beaches in the world, Flamenco Beach in Culebra. After being picked up at the hotel and being transported to Fajardo (60 minutes away from the hotel) a speedy catamaran will take you to the first snorkeling spot. Then enjoy the rest of the day bathing in the clear waters of Flamenco.” This excursion does not always reach its destination, Flamenco Beach, as advertised. East Island Excursions, the tour operator, organizes daily snorkeling excursions which take place in either Culebra or Culebrita, depending on weather conditions. Some days they do not go to Flamenco Beach. Passengers are only told of their exact destination once on the boat, after their snorkeling stop!!! Those who choose this trip for the sole purpose of getting to Flamenco Beach end up feeling not only disappointed but also misled. After all, this is not what they paid over $100 for! East Island Excursions expects tourists to pay for services despite not being provided what they paid for and not being told clearly that they would not be going to Flamenco Beach. Before we booked our trip, we went to three hotels in the Condado area (Condado Plaza, Concha, and Marriott) and everyone told us we should go with East Island. They were just as misinformed as everyone else. Do your homework before booking your excursion and make sure they go to Flamenco Beach on the day your trip is scheduled to take place, if Flamenco Beach is where you want to spend your day! Otherwise you may just end up as disheartened as we did. Alternatively, you may choose to take the ferry from Fajardo or a small plane to Culebra, both much better choices. There are other issues with this company but this one bothered us the most. I would need an extra page to go over everything. Don’t waste your time and money!
