Kayaking and snorkeling in calm, beautiful waters was excellent. Both our 7 year old and 14 year old girls enjoyed the experience as did my wife and myself. Definitely a home run for a family outing! Excuse me for not remembering the names of the team, they were exceptional. When my 7 year old wanted to stop snorkeling, the guide spent the last 15 minutes talking with her. This conversation was the highlight of the snorkeling for my 7 year old. Enjoy!

This was an awesome experience! We set out as a family of five with three younger kiddos (ages 8, 6 and 3). From booking until the end, it was easy, well organized, super professional and so much fun! We took a kayak out to the sea and snorkeled around a reef. Everyday will have different sea life to view but this day had lots of jellyfish! Our guides showed our little ones how to “pet” them; something I didn’t know you could do without getting stung. We went to a very quite beach and a lagoon and hung out for a bit. It was the most perfect morning/afternoon! It is something we could have done with or without our kids.

I was in Puerto Rico in August 2018 and wanted to do fun activities with my 15 year old daughter, my girlfriend and her daughter (there was a boyfriend as well). My girlfriend lives in PR and she had never done a night snorkel. Neither had the rest of our crew. So this was exciting. We arrived at 6:30 PM; signed the requisite waivers and geared up. They provided the mask, snorkel, fins and wet suit. All the equipment was in good condition and adequate for the job. It is a little intimidating to swim at night with only a hand flashlight but our tour guides made everyone feel at ease. We saw tiger fish, moray eels, lobster and puffer fish as well as smaller tropical fish. At one point we turned off the flashlights so we could see the bio luminescent organisms. Even though the moon was out, we could still see the shiny organisms when we swirled our hands in the water. This is a professional outfit and we will certainly return for the kayak tour on a night with no moon.

We appreciate that you take your free time to write this review and help us improve our service. Pirate Snorkeling Shack has been distinguished for having certified guides, marine biologists, high quality snorkeling equipment, and excellent customer service. Las Cabezas de San Juan, Ensenada Yegua in Fajardo is a Natural Reserve, in which it is not manipulated in the environment. In other words, our company does not feed, or manipulate any marine animal, to the delight of human beings. We let nature continue its cycle, which is currently in recovery after Hurricane Maria.

In the discount offer you have chosen, a guided interpretive tour is offered with our marine biologist, who includes kayaking and our Cressi snorkeling gear. Despite our efforts to adjust our equipment, you refused to use, claiming that it bothered your feet and decided to do the snorkeling tour using only the masks you brought. Which can be a bit tiring, not using the clappers to do the snorkeling tour.

We regret that your experience leads you to think about not wanting to return to realize this beautiful adventure. Explore the Reserve without having to pay anything, we offer you a free laminated map with different points that you can return and explore on your own. Venture, pass again for our place, that for free, we will give you a good service again and let you know the new points to explore.

Thanks!

Hector, the owner/guide provided us with an ideal snorkeling experience for a very reasonable price. He is personally delightful, extremely knowledgeable about the ecosystem, and speaks flawless English. Kayaking out to the reef was a great way to see gorgeous sea life (and get a little exercise) without committing a full day to the activity. Hector’s family business has what appears to be an exclusive license to provide tours in a nature preserve encompassing a bay with crystal clear, warm water. The whole experience was utterly delightful. Even the lunch was great.
