A friend and I came to El Conquistador Resort while killing time before a bio bay tour. We were drawn into the restaurant by our hungry stomachs and the lovely view. That view was the best part of our experience. There were over 8 servers mingling around the bar, yet it was 'please seat yourself.' Umm...okay. Then it took someone over 5 minutes to bring us a menu when only two other tables had guests at them. The menu wasn't very large and the prices were a bit high, even for resort standards. Our server was terrible. After she took our order she never came by to ask how our food was or offer us a refill of water. When we were finished eating (a mediocre pizza and a fish sandwich with a salad full of brown lettuce), our server never came by. We flagged her down to ask for the check, but then she disappeared! When we finally got her attention we asked for the check and two cups of water to go. Another server had to bring us our check and we never got our water. This service was unacceptable for any establishment, let alone a Waldorf Astoria. Our $40 lunch was not worth half that and left us with a bad taste in our mouth to ever come back.
