Went with bio island electric boat tour, so glad we made that choice! Capt. Jeff was a pro, full of great info about the bio bay and the surrounding mangroves. Very impressive tour. Bring plant based bug repellant, and leave everything else onshore. The kayak tours will be good for the athletic type who are not afraid of dark water as I am. Take the advice of someone who has been there and go in the boat with Capt. Jeff and company. It is a do not miss adventure while in Puerto Rico!

“If you only get to do one thing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 13, 2013

An amazine experience that occurs in only a few locations in the world and none this bright. We went out of Fajardo to the lagoon with BioIsland tours. It was amazing! I don't care how you see it, if you only get to do one thing while you are visiting Puerto Rico this is worth every penny!!

“Awesome experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 13, 2013

My husband and I read reviews online and were told how amazing the Bio luminous kayaking tour was. It did not disappoint!! We left our hotel at 6:30 pm and got in the water around 8:30 pm. It is a busy spot with multiple tours going in and out. We were kayaking for about an hour with a group of 15 kayaks accompanied by 1 tour guide and 2 marine biologist. Very educational and beautiful. This is a must see!!

“The Bio Bay is a Must”

Even if you're not into the "outdoors" you will kick yourself someday for missing this. With only five places where these microorganisms exist on the planet, Bio Bay has the healthiest population.

“kayaking in the dead of night in rain”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 9, 2013

This tour was an adventure. The story too long for this, but included kayaking through a mangrove channel in the dead of night with only a few light sticks to guide us, a lecture on the biochemistry of bio-luminescence in the bay, a downpour and thunder & some distant lightning on the way back through the mangroves. WOW. Oh, yes. The bioluminescence was interesting as well especially the flashes of light when rain drops hit the water.
