“Wow! A must see!”

Either by kayak or electric boat this is a must see! Check out the amount if moon light on their website prior to selecting your trip day. Best if really dark. They do put a tarp over the boats if there is too much moon light. Wear a bathing suit bottom and don't forget bug spray! Don't bring anything that can't get wet!

“Not what I expected but worth giving it a try.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 15, 2013 via mobile

We went on a night that had limited moon light so I was expecting more of a glow in the water. It was just a bit a sparkle in the water that I could barley see.

If you enjoy kayaking definitely do it

It is kinda far so be prepared to paddle.

Note. I went on the early tour and I am glad I did. The trip into the lagoon was great a covered canopy of mangrove trees. So beautiful. That was the high light.

“If you don't do this during your trip to Puerto Rico, you're nuts!”

Go see the bio bay (bio lagoon actually) and be amazed at the sparkles and glow you will see. Just do your travel companions a favor and verbalize your lack of paddle skill. It only takes a few minutes for the guides to show you how to steer your kayak. Don't worry about bringing a camera, you won't be able to take pictures, but you'll remember it forever.

“Don't Miss It!”

Very cool experience! From the darkness of the mangroves to the sparkle of the bioluminescent bay, it was an experience we'll remember for a long time. We went with Kayaking Puerto Rico; they were very professional and ran a very smooth trip.

“Recommended, but with cautions!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2013

Is there anything more romantic than kayaking by night through intercoastal waterways with the moon shining down on you and tree limbs creating a cozy ambience? We took a kayaking tour out to the bioluminescent bay and back. The bioluminescent bay is pretty cool, but underwhelming and oversold. The kayak trip itself was the highlight for us.

However, with our tour there was a factory-production style element that robbed the trip of a whole lot of its charm. Super-fast and useless instruction on how to row a kayak, then an overly quick trip out to the bay followed by a quick return. The waterway out to the bay was crowded, when my girlfriend wanted to go oars up and just soak in the moment, I would have to paddle like mad to keep from getting rammed from behind, and eventually other kayaks would get frustrated and blow by us. What I think could have been an amazing experience ended up being very stressful and forced.

So, choose your time and your tour carefully! If you do, I think you might have an incredibly memorable experience. Well, it will be memorable either way, but try to make it a good one! Especially since the tours are pricey, take the time to do it right or skip it altogether.
