Had a delicious dinner at this breezy little marina place! Fun atmosphere, Local flavor! Reasonably priced, very kid friendly. Food was excellent! Only negative...service was very slow (but friendly) & difficult access to bathrooms shared with marina.

Ate with four kids and 3 adults. Nice location in the marina. My son and I took a walk to the jetty while we were waiting for our food. Delicious Mofongo camarines, creole sauce. Thicker than usual and very flavorful. My husband had the pork chops with a chimichurri type sauce that I practically licked off the plate because it was so good.

We looked for another local restaurant during our trip to Fajardo and boy did we find a gem. Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, this little shack in Puerto Chico served us some of the best food of our vacation.

Our waitress, Iris, was prompt, friendly and was attentive to our needs. Her recommendation of the ($14) Grouper in Garlic Sauce (Mero al Ajillo o Empanao) was the best! We also ordered the ($14) Spicy Red Pepper Grouper (Mero Endiablao). This dish lives up to its name and not for the faint of heart.

The decor of the place is VERY simple and understated. Seating only a few dozen, if you are looking for cloth napkins and tablecloths - look elsewhere. El Varadero is poster child for seaside shacks that serve some of the best food.

The place sits right on the water with boats docked all around - we took a beer and strolled the dock after dinner... very quaint. To say that this place is very laid back would be an understatement.

Go and enjoy!

We found our way to El Varadero through a local recommendation. While a little tricky to find, it was worth it. It sits right on the water with boats docked all around and is small yet inviting. The drinks were deliciously prepared (especially the melon colada) and the ceviche was delicious. We enjoyed a peaceful evening meal and hung around a bit to enjoy the night air. As long as you don't get hung up on it being a casual place with plastic cups and paper napkins, you're going to love it! Our waitress was super friendly and answered any questions we had and our somewhat unusual request to try the coconut bread for our appetizer (yummy!).

We went to this restaurant based on a recommendation and wasn't disappointed. The food, drinks & service were all amazing. My husband & I had the Spicy Grouper and it was terrific. They had live music that night and we sat inside right next to it. Although the music was good, It was very loud and we couldn't really have a conversation during our meal. Overall, I would definitely recommend it.
