This is my 5th time I stay here and I still enjoy the place like the first time.
Stay at La Marina, 1230. I recommend 1231 or 1232 have a great ocean view and also a great Coqui Water Park view.

First day we went to Palomino Island and in the afternoon went to Las Olas Pool. The pool was just for us... Relaxed and enjoying the amazing view from this pool...!

The second day we went to the Coqui Water Park around 10am and because we stay from Wednesday to Friday the park was not that crowed. All the amenities here are SO MUCH FUN!! we enjoyed the Tower of Yocahu a lot. The weather was great ! The slides and the lazy river makes you want to stay forever! We had lunch right there in the park and that night we ate at café Bella Vista... fresh pizza..

Third day landed again in the Coqui Water Park and stayed there till 4pm... Almost toasted because of the sun.

Overall the best place in PR and you don't have to go outside the resort. I fully recommend it for any occasion...!!!

My only recommendations are. 1.More shades in the Coqui water park. 2.Better first impression in the resort entrance and 3.More smiles in the faces of the employees.

Room Tip: La Marina, rooms 1231 or 1232 have a great ocean view and also a great Coqui Water Park view.

I went to the hotel with a couple of friends to a girly getaway, so we planned ahead different activities throughout our stay. IT EXCEDDED MY EXPECTATIONS!

First day we went to Palomino Island- the minute we arrived and settle someone was taking our order and service was great!! we just relaxed and enjoyed the amazing view!

Second day we went to the spa for Yoga class and instructor Rita was so nice we stayed in the jacuzzi, steam room and went back for Rumba class. THAT WAS SO MUCH FUN!! we danced, we laugth, it was a great time! both activities very affordable too!
That day we stayed in the pool and ate at café Bella Vista... fresh pizza.. even my italian friend said it was great (and she is a very tough critic)

Third day we went to Coqui Water Park were you become a kid again!! the slides and the lazy river makes you want to stay forever!

Overall the views and the hotel itself is breathtaking! I fully recommend it for any occasion!!

My only constructive critiques are that the water park needs more shade area and it also needs fresh water stations.

We would definitely go back. We spent a couples of nights and had a lot of fun. We stayed at the La Marina building and had a great view of the ocean. The rooms on the first floor ocean view had a balcony to the garden... Pretty cool. It is fun for kids too...there is a great water park,in the hotel property, for a small fee. You can also take the free hotel ferry to go to Palomilla Island, part of the hotel property.

This place could be one of the best places in the Caribbean. Bar none! Would give it a 3.5/5, not 3.

It has the view, it has a private island, it has multiple pools with multiple restaurants, but it really is missing "it"!

We discovered this place in 2008 and actually were engaged there. Our second time here so we do love the "pros" about this place but a face lift, new carpet and some paint would spice this place up big time...possibly 500k-1 million would be great money well spent.

Can't comment enough about the private island. Possibly an earlier start and later finish to the shuttle service could be better. The services and prices are very fair once they get you over there as they do not try to scalp you on drink prices. The back side of the island is worth it if you want to be more secluded and capture "more sun". The hike over there is not easy, but well worth it when you see you may be all by yourself. Awesome!

The views from your hotel rooms may be one of the best you can obtain in the islands. Service was great . Booked on luxury link so the deal included the resort charge which is complete bull!

Overall, great place...just throw a little more money into it before people start thinking twice about coming back. You guys have the real estate...paint and carpet is cheap!

I have stayed in literally hundreds of different hotel rooms across many hotel chains. By far I prefer the Hilton group as their properties are generally well kept, good amenities and value for my $. I was really excited to stay at this resort as the Waldorf hotels are supposed to be cream of the crop. Well I this case, that cream has turned sour and moldy.

I agree with Manu of the others this resort has a couple things going for it.
1. The staff is great and most are eager to give you any help they can.
2. The views are amazing, especially if you get a ocean view room.

That is about it for the positives.
First thing I ran into is the check in. As I mentioned earlier I stay at a lot of Hilton properties so I was able to check in using the Hilton honors desk. I give the manager my name and he pulls up the reservation. My reservation is supposed to come with a guaranteed ocean view upgrade but I am informed that they do to have any available. I asked if they could fix the problem later in the week as this trip was for our wedding anniversary and he told me no the hotel was completely booked. I also asked him what would be done as I paid extra to get into the ocean view room that he does not have available. He tells me he will look into a 70ish motel 6 theme. We get up to the room and by gosh the room matches the hall ways. Faded, ripped, mildew carpets, old vinyl couch, dated tile bathroom complete with a broken shower head. Called that into maintenance but a week later we are leaving and I hill billy fixed it with a wash rag. At least with he wash rag in place it does not spray water out everywhere.

We tried to eat at a few Restraunts but we did not care for the food especially the high prices. After a couple bad experiences we ate exclusively at off property. The food in the area is amazing and not to be missed.
W
Overall I would suggest coming to the area but check out some of the less expensive accommodations and I think you would be much happier.

The resort was a luxurious retreat in a tropical paradise with fantastic views of the ocean. The staff was very helpful. The food in some of the restaurants were very expensive but some of it was not very tasty.

My husband and I went to el conquistador for our 1 year anniversary. Upon arrival we asked for an upgrade and they gave us a beautiful king bed room with a balcony overlooking the pools and ocean. They also gave us a complimentary welcome drinks. The room was right next to the lobby which was very convenient. After our first day going out riding atvs we came back and there was a bottle of champagne and fruit and cheese waiting for us in our room. The waterpark was really fun and they have a ferry that takes you frequently to palomino island. The views everywhere are breath taking. The water is so blue. There are plenty of places to eat. There are alot of kids, especially at the waterpark. But it didn't really bother us. Also there wasn't much to do at night. Not any clubs or bars near the area. But most of the nights we were exhausted anyway from all the activities Also we left on the first ferry at 9am to palomino island sunday morning but there was noone at the activity desk till almost 11am. The snorkeling there wasn't that great, couldn't really see anything. And the snorkeling trip was booked for the next 2 days. It would have been better to book an outside company for snorkeling. The concierge didn't have a ton of reccomendations as to what to do. But other then that everything was great. I would come here again.
