We had a good group, but the guys from Pure Adventure kept the novice kayakers moving along and in line. Javier was very nice to talk to and made this a great experience.

We found Pure adventures through a Hotel brochure. The trip was enjoyable. I went with my family children ages 15, 12, and 7. They all enjoyed the trip. It is easier if you have some experience either kayaking or canoeing, I am fat and out of shape so it was a little tiring at times. THe crew made sure everyone stayed together and safety was a high priority. We went to Seven Seas beach before our excursion which is about 5 minutes from the sight where Pure Adventures leaves from. Make sure you have bug spray as I was eaten while on a kayak. ANyone can do this tour, but keep in mind, when you are in the middle of the ocean (although Shallow) you yave no choice but to row. My family was not perfect at Kayaking but the memories will last for ever. It was extremely worth it and I really loved the tour guides who did a great job.

This is a newer company and they did an outstanding job as tour guides. The staff was extremely friendly, funny, knowledgeable and professional. I appreciated the marine biologist as part of the tour to help explain the amazing sites you see.

The Bio Bay itself is the best part of this trip, definitely worth seeing if you find the time for this tour. We took the 5 pm tour (in November). Make sure you print out the directions from the website as this area is somewhat off the beaten path ad requires a lot of attention while driving. Driving while it was somewhat light out was a big help. Parking can be a little tough at the small park, especially as there were several tours taking off from the same location. Definitely make sure to not leave any valuables in your car, although there was some police presence in the area it seems like this would be a ripe area for vehicle theft.

You do have to present a credit card and drivers license when checking in. Note that they will only hold onto your car keys (in a locked box inside of a locked vehicle), so you will need to figure out a way to store and protect your other valuables. We had a waterproof bag to put them in and brought them with us.

Javier was the leader for this tour and during kayaking class included humor with his instruction, and he did a great job. After some instruction it was time to get into the tandem kayaks. You will get wet, starting with walking into the water to get into your kayak. You will also get somewhat wet as you kayak.

The main issue with our group was that it was very large, and a high percentage of the group had no experience with kayaking and didn't seem to pick it up the entire time. The trip starts off with crossing an inlet bay/marina area to get to the canal section. It was very evident that the inexperience kayakers were going to hold up the entire group and eventually the 3 guides tied up several of the kayaks in a row and ended up towing them from their kayak. This issue only got worse once we hit the canal area, which was fairly narrow. The trip to the bay wasn't as bad as the return trip from the bay as it was very dark by that time and we ran into other groups heading to the bay. Kayaks crashed into each other, got turned around, etc. It took a lot more time getting back, and as long as you have some patience and can laugh at the situation you will get through it. Note you don't have to be a good kayaker, if you have been in a canoe or kayak once or twice before and somewhat get the idea of how to move through the water you will be fine. Again note you will get wet, and the waves at the start at the marina area are definitely noticeable vs. the calm water in the canal and bio bay.

The Bio Bay itself was very neat, and Javier did a nice job in explaining the phenomenon that was occurring while also pointing out a lot of the stars in the sky that night. I wish we had more time to hear other things that Javier knew, but it seemed like he was pressed for time due to the time it took to get the large group to the bay and back.

It does seem that the company could have controlled the number of reservations that they had to control the situation better. This would have provided a little extra time at the Bio Bay itself for the entire group as we seemed a little rushed.

Some water and light snacks were available after the tour, which was OK but don't expect anything of significance. There were several food vendors in the area making food if you feel adventurous enough to try their food.

This is my second time doing this tour with Pure Adventure along with my wife at 7pm group. Must say that we had a very good time, awesome experience again. We're are locals, and we love experiencing our beautiful Puerto Rico.

Tip: Will not recommend doing the tour at full moon. You won't be able to appreciate the bioluminescence at its full.

This time was raining and the experience four us was much better, 'cause we could see all the lagoon light up because of the rain drops in the water , amazingggg.

Once the tour is finish, you'll have complementary fresh water, fruit and cookies. .

Note: They provide you mosquito repellent. That's an A+.
