The closest restaurant to el conquistador hotel, one of the hotel employees referred us, plates are between $25 and $40 (I believe), with a family of 4, between food and drinks we spent on average $200 a night. Expensive because it's so close to the hotel, I'm pretty sure if you drive a few blocks down, you'll find food for a lot less. The first night we went we waited close to an hour but they have a waiting area, we did make reservations for the next night so we didn't wait. The mahi mahi mofong was incredible!!! The vibe and music are great, they have seating outside or inside. Everything we ate, including appetizers were delish! We went down to a seafood restaurant (down the street from la Estacion, since la Estacion was closed on Wed), the place had great reviews, nice restaurant, same price points but food was not as good!

Our favorite dinner in Puerto Rico was at La Estacion. It's just off the property of El Con on the main road. It had a Boho vibe, play area outside for kids with a tire swing, etc. There was also a bar, so wait wasn't too bad! Food was all local and delicious. They ask for cash if possible bc that's how they have to pay farmers. We sat outside and everything was DELICIOUS! Best seafood mofongo!

The food was very good, the wait staff was attentive and prices about what we expected. If it is rainy, seating is tricky.

When my Other 1/2 and I visited PR for the Christmas-New Years holidays, he had already done much research. I CANNOT stress sufficiently how UTTERLY amazing the food, service, owners and staff were. We went as soon as we arrived Xmas Eve and ended up returning an additional 2 times (incl. New Years Eve). Food: out of this world; staff: knowledgeable, outgoing & very very attentive; owners: you couldn't ask for more hospitable people anywhere! JJ, my other 1/2, knew the owner/head chef from the latter's days at the CIA in NYC. The location was eclectic but you weren't "packed in" w/ multitudes of other patrons. You wouldn't expect such culinary creations to come forth from a converted auto shop/gas station. If in Fajardo or the surrounding area, this is a MUST! And once tried, you'll find yourself returning time after time as NOTHING could top - or even meet - everything la Estacion had to offer! I'd take an overnight trip just to have another dinner there!!!!
