We had our 7 and 9 year old kids. All 4 of us enjoyed an excellent home made meal that tasted like we were in someone's home. It was a Sunday night so we enjoyed their roast pork. Fajardo was a bit " unorganized" to me and I was grateful for an excellent dinner in a fun atmosphere with my family.

We were surprised at the great service since we heard service could be on island time in Puerto Rico & this was our first night dining out. We arrived later at 9:20 PM after our biobay tour and were seated quickly & had an attentive waiter. We both had the shrimp & fish monfongo which was good. The mojitos were small with a lot of ice though for the price & we had better at other restaurants during our trip.

My husband and I have eaten here before. Very good lobster! We were disappointed to arrive and find out they were closed on a day the website and Tripadvisor app said they were to be open. Great place to eat just make sure you call before you go.

On a girls' weekend getaway, 7 of us were staying at Las Casitas Village/El Conquistador in Fajardo, Puerto Rico & wanted to try the local cuisine. Upon reading all of the positive recommendations for La Estacion on TripAdvisor, couldn't wait to try this place! The concierge at Las Casitas made our reservation for 8:00 pm on Saturday night (April 5th), however, she warned me that it is difficult reaching the restaurant via email and phone. La Estacion is a restaurant/bar just past the Hotel El Conquistador. It lies at the entrance of the Fajardo “barrio” called Las Croabas, traditionally known for it’s seafood and access to the bioluminescent bay. The restaurant is not in the best area, and doesn't look like much from the outside, but don't let this fool you. We took a taxi to the restaurant which was only a few minutes away ($4 pp one way). Our driver confirmed our reservation with the hostess before leaving- (thank you Francisco!) and we were promptly seated upon our arrival. Dining is mostly outside, canopy covered tables with tiki torches- very casual & tropical. If you like grilled meats and fish, this is the place. Everything is charcoal grilled, right outside – fresh fish of the day (caught from local waters), shrimp, steaks, chicken and burgers. Seasonal native fruits and vegetables are found in salads, dipping sauces and fresh juices for cocktails. Salad dressings, sauces, and rubs are all homemade! We had both red & white sangria served only by the glass & mojitos -refreshing & delicious! All of our appetizers were delicious- caribbean chicken wings, pinchos (skewered shrimp), chorizo. Our entrees were all excellent- especially the Monfongo! The waitress recommended the (shrimp & mahi-mahi) filling which was simply outstanding - very fresh & flavorful! If you're looking to try Mofongo, this is definitely the place to try it -the presentation was eye-catching. I ordered the skirt steak, grilled to perfection with a side of rice and beans. The burger was very tasty & served with hand cut fries, BBQ ribs were tender with a nice smoky flavor & the tostones were oh so good. We finished off the meal with the banana turnover dessert...mmhhh! Everyone in our group was very pleased. They do suggest paying in cash, as this keeps their costs down. If you are looking for a casual escape from resort food & high prices and want to experience Puerto Rican cuisine that captures the true flavor of the Caribbean this is it.

There was a bit of wait but they had a seating area by the bar where time just flew. Its secluded and had a fantastic atmosphere. The vegetarian platter was excellent.
