“Fun atmosphere, great food”
Reviewed January 15, 2014

This funky little restaurant is just down the road to the right from El Conquistador and is well worth the visit. It is in an old gas station and is decorated with a variety of old bikes. Their food is locally sourced and well prepared. My husband had the pork spareribs which were meaty, flavorful and topped with an excellent homemade BBQ sauce. I had the daily fish special, mahi mahi, which was excellent - not over cooked and in a tasty sauce. Dessert was a wonderful banana "empanada" - we ordered one to share and should have gotten another one, it was so good! The owners and staff are very friendly and attentive.

Really liked this place. The mashed banana things are good. Really cool atmosphere. Great service. Little pricey but not too bad. Worth it.

“Very cool little spot”
Reviewed January 11, 2014

We drove from Rio Grande to get here and it was totally worth it! It used to be a gas station but it is now an open air restaurant. We had the chicken BBQ as an appetizer and the local fish special as an entree. Our server Jose was fantastic and the food was wonderful. If you are within 30 minutes of this place you will not regret coming here :)

“Excellent choice for good local food.”
Reviewed January 10, 2014

Went here on a suggestion by our host.

We arrived right as they were opening (5pm) on a sunday night.

No wait time and plenty of open tables even when we left.

You know a place is good when you just have to pick from the kind of animal you want to eat. I ordered "Pig" and my wife ordered "Fish." The pig was being butchered right around the corner of the restaurant after being smoked in their giant smoker (in the bed of an F150 truck parked outside painted with flame decals.)

Everything was delicious and we would certainly return. Maybe picking a slow night like Sunday would be better than trying to get in on a popular night, as pretty much everyone we ran into recommended the place.
