Located on the way to the Conquistador hotel, we found this restaurant to be a bit of a disappointment. We tried to get seated the first night we were in Fajardo, but were told there were no tables available, so we made a reservation for the following night. It seems reservations are recommended, but we’re not sure why. The menu is fairly limited and the prices are not that much lower than might be found at a better restaurant. Most of our party opted for the chicken breast with ribs. Tasty enough, but nothing (including the service) made it a stand-out experience. We’re placing it at #4 of the four non-chain restaurants we went to while in Fajardo. Website is www.laestacionpr.com

Just outside of El Conquistador Resort. Limited menu, but local, fresh ingredients. Huge portions. Great tasting, well-prepared island dishes! Friendly service. Outdoor pation dining. Reservation a must.

We had trouble getting in at a couple top rated places tonight and were about to give up and eat hotel food at the Conquistador but decided to try one more and went to La Estacion and we were not disappointed. The mofongo was the best I've ever tried with lots of garlic and a sauce that really complimented the filling. The skirt steak was out of this world and the ribs were outstanding and not cooked to death. The drinks were really tasty and the service was excellent. I may go back tomorrow. This is a winner!

We just returned from PR and were able to eat at La Estacion once during our stay. I should note that this week (week of 25 March) is spring break for Puerto Rico and based on our experience, much of the US. Reservations are really required during this week. We met one family at our hotel who books reservations for the whole week at La Estacion a month before they come down, and cancel as needed! We tried to get in again, but had no luck - having called several times, including the day of for any cancellations. In short, the word is out and they don't have a lot of patience with those wanting to get in without a reservation during a week as busy as this one.

Apart from that, La Estacion is a lovely restaurant. The night we went, the hostess was very accommodating about squeezing us in, albeit outside where she advised that we stay away from ordering fish dishes because flies are drawn to it! We started the evening with a few minutes playing billiards, and then our daughter (7) enjoyed the little outdoor play area where a few other kids were also gathered. A nice touch for families - parents can relax and enjoy a drink while the kids are happily occupied.

Our server was outstanding - answered questions patiently, advised as needed, checked in to ensure we were enjoying our food. I did order a tuna appetizer despite the warnings about flies being attracted and ate it quickly, tho enjoyably without a fly in sight! The rice and beans, pinchos and salads were great. Simple, quality ingredients and terrific homemade sauces. We would have loved to eat there again - next time we'll make reservations ahead of travel!

I know this place has great reviews but Don't come here. Rude service, very little verity of seafood.
We made a reservation for 6pm. Got to the place at 5:55pm and were told it would only take 5-10 min. 45 min later after asking for status update 3 times we were finally seated.
Mosquitos all over the place.
Skip this place.
