We researched the excursions online and found that Real Tours Jamaica had excellent reviews so we chose them. We booked online, paid via Paypal and was given a quick response via email with instructions on when we arrived. When we arrived at port from our RCI Allure ship we were confused on the ship vs. real time and came out about an hour late. Our tour guide Michael Johnson was waiting there patiently for us and we began out excursion. It was just our family of four in his car. It was about a 45 minute drive to the falls. As we drove Michael was so easy to talk to and shared so much information about the country and his culture. We loved him. During the drive you got to see what "real" Jamaica looks like. When we arrived at the falls, there were other guides to assist us with climbing the rocks, etc. They were these young, strong guys that were able to leap across the rocks, do flips, etc. They would hold our hands and help us up as well as hold our camera and take photos. They were very friendly and helpful so we gave them a tip of $25. The Falls and landscape were beautiful. After the falls, we stopped in Colombus Cove (where he stopped on his way to America) which overlooks the water. There, we had a delicious lunch of Jerk chicken, pork, red peas and rice and yams. You could see them cooking the meat fresh over wood with a "tin roof" covering it for steam. Michael returned us to our ship on time and we tipped him $25 as well for being such a great guide. He really made the trip fun!
I really felt we got a taste of Jamaica and it was not the regular touristy thing. Everyone was soooo nice and we felt safe. The only negative was there was no seat belts in our vehicle because I guess it is not required in the back in Jamaica. I would definitely recommend this trip!
