We booked our Falmouth Heritage Walks walking tour on board the Royal Caribbean Voyager of the Seas. With our tour guide Taneisha James, we found Falmouth to be a genuine tour destination with a rich history. Taneisha spoke in clear English, and the wireless headphones were very helpful. Had we arrived a few days earlier, we could have joined in on Prince Harry's tour.

Our cruise ship stopped in the port of Falmouth, Jamaica, and my husband and I
wanted to see something of the city rather than drive for hours to a distant
site. We found out about the Falmouth Historical Walking Tour and contacted the
group via email. They were helpful and we met a guide just outside the port. She
was a native of the town and we saw not only saw the major attractions of the
town but also enjoyed her informed and entertaining explanations. For those who
are not beach addicts this is an interesting alternative port excursion.

My husband and I took this tour when our cruise ship stopped in Falmouth. The groups are normally a maximum of twelve people, but because of somewhat inclement weather it ended up being just the two of us. Our guide was very professional and knowledgable, we saw many historical sites "up close and personal" on our two-hour walk. The walk was on completely flat ground, though the overall condition of the local streets and walks (and in most places, an absence of sidewalks) means you have to be alert; our guide was helpful here as she knows the ins and outs of the local traffic patterns. Our guide used a wireless microphone and gave us each a wireless headset so we could hear her better as we walked, but our receivers barely worked. However, we were able to hear her fairly well by staying close to her (had we been a bigger group this would have posed a problem.) Be aware this is not a "pretty" tour; while the sights and local history were interesting, you are really seeing how the local residents live, and Falmouth is not Beverly Hills. However, if you like learning the local history and lore, and a chance to rub elbows with the residents, you will enjoy this short tour.
