My family took this excursion when we docked in Falmouth on a cruise. The ranch is less than an hour from the port. When you arrive you can get a locker for $5. It was a bit disorganized when we arrived; no one was able to tell us exactly what was supposed to happen and we were rushed out to the horses.

The first part of the ride was through the country side. The guides we had told about some local plant life and sang. Some showed off too much - racing back and forth, and making their mounts rear and buck. After we finished the first part of the ride we switched horses and went into the bay. The water in the bay was a beautiful blue. Yes, the horses do potty in the water, but the water is flowing and not stagnant. That does kill the romanticism a bit, but that part of the ride was pretty cool, and you do get to go a ways out.

When you get back there are (expensive) refreshments available for purchase, as well as some photos. It would have been nice if they took pictures of everyone while we were just sitting on the horses. None of our pictures were any good - we were never looking at the camera because we didn't know they were taking a picture.

The horses looked like they were well taken care of.

We definitely had fun doing this ride!

Unbelievable!!! It was so beautiful to start off with, and the enthusiasm and friendliness of the tour guide really made it worth all the time. The Estate itself is still original and beautiful just like it was in the 1700's. Highly recommend this to people who enjoy history or zip lining and tubing which is also offered! Definitely will be coming back!

We bought the Chukka Adventure Pass which included ziplining across the plantation through tree canopies, horseback riding, lunch and river tubing.Found it to be a great value for money and would definitely recommend it. The property's historic charm is a beautiful backdrop for adventure, the staff are extremely friendly and informative, and the Jerk Chicken, the best I've ever had. Repellant is a must for certain aspects of the tour, especially the zipline and tubing as these take place in the forest areas of the property, just a little splash will ensure that all your time will be spent enjoying the tour.

What a fabulous day at the beach! With the beach facing north there are plenty of shady trees for where to place your beach chair, or place it right in the sunny area. First thing to know is that the guy setting up your beach chairs (price included) won't be around later - be prepared to tip him right on the spot.

Their waterfront area is relatively short, therefore not a "walking beach" so just relax and enjoy. Only a few vendors are evidently allowed to come by, but no hassle, simply signal "no" and they move on. Other vendors at the perimeter's edge will work to catch your attention, signaling for you going to them, but that's your choice. In other words, your stuff on the beach chairs is safe, so go and enjoy the fabulous warm. calm, safe and aqua Caribbean waters! Their bar and lunch prices are very reasonable and make sure to tip the staff.

As an often cruise-ship passenger I despise getting gouged by the ship's "shore excursions" and work to make my own shore excursions when feasible, but I must admit this excursion was a a good value. Others in a larger group may explore making direct arrangements, these guys certainly know about getting you back to the ship on time. Enjoy!

While in Falmouth Jamaica we decided to take the Chukka ride. This is a buggy that holds around a dozen people, and is drawn by 2 horses. The buggy had padded seats and was comfortable. These horses are the cousins to the Clysdales. We passed a Jewish cemetary, went to a church and walked around inside to take pictures. You will get some history as you go along as well. Each person got a bottle of cold water. Lisa the tour director was very educational and taught us about the language among other things.
