Jamaican cuisine samples were awesome! (the ackee and fish is similar to a crab cake in taste, there was jerk chicken, plaintain, breadfruit, saltfish and rum punch)
clean bathroom facilities
very informative with some hands-on experiences
uneven walkways and steps - be careful
kinda cheesy dramatic presentations with awkward opportunities for participation
While I'm not particularly sorry I went, it was a little disappointing at times.(3.5 stars would be my preferred rating) During the tour of the plantation house, there is quite a bit of repetition ('Oh look, something else made out of mahogany!') and much is made out of common items. And the downstairs seem to be unavailable to tours due to 'duppy business' - ghosts. (it gets worse at night - the sign out front says so!) There IS quite a bit of interesting information - primarily from the prerecorded videos which are a very nice idea for the tour -- more places should take advantage of that. Everyone was very pleasant. Not stroller or handicap friendly. There will be walking with elevation changes too. Plus, small kids may find a couple of instances in the dramatic presentations frightening. Most teenagers would probably find the trip boring. I can see where some people might like the audience participation portions of the dramatic presentations, but it felt a little awkward at times. Take your camera though - if someone in your party decides to beat a drum or dance, you will have a picture to embarrass them with!
