Don't go when the moon is bright. It would be waste of your money. Plan to jump in and swim. Our youngest daughter wanted to get in the water my husband jumped in with his shorts. .

We didn't eat here because we came exclusively to experience the Luminous Lagoon. The cost is $25 per person and includes a rum punch or fruit punch. The wait wasn't too bad. We had a medium size group and only a handful of us actually got into the water. Remember this excursion is at night so that we can actually see the micro-organisms light up as we move around in the water. The water was warm and murky and the sand feels yucky!! I highly recommend you to wear water shoes so you don't feel that stuff on the bottom of your feet.

All in all, the experience was great especially because there are only other 3 places in the world where you can see this happen. Once you have done it you don't have to do it again.... so it's basically like crossing out something on your bucketlist!!

Also, when we were getting out of the water we could still see the blue sparkling all over our swimsuits. The stars were beautiful and the sky was clear this night which made this excursion even better!!

The only downside is we used our Go Pro camera to record and it all came out black so we have virtually no photos of this event. Please bring a camera that takes good night time photos.

You have to go to the luminous lagoon if you stay here. We did the sunset cruise which was a more expensive option but we didn't have to leave the resort to get on the boat. You can also take a cab for about 5 dollars a head and pay 25 to the marina or you can get a tour from many of the locals for about 30 dollars each

“Very different”

It's a really weird sensation seeing yourself 'glow' when you move through the water. It's a little short time wise and don't put your feet on the bottom it's what I would imagine standing in blacmange would be like. I have scored it high more because you can only do this in less then a handful of places, so pretty unique

“Perfect for a date...”

Nice experience to go out on the water and have the water light up... The stars were out and beautiful. You can have a couple drinks first or a nice meal at the restaurant and then go out for a ride on the boat to see the water light up. It is amazing.
