Beautiful cottage in a perfect setting. very high standard of fixtures & fittings & very friendly owners & staff.
Loved it so much tried our luck on the lottery in the hope we would be able to buy it! Unfortunately didn't happen!
We will be back.

“Bliss”
Reviewed September 15, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We have stayed here before and am delighted to report that the original very high standards set by Jo when she took over are being totally maintained.

Bedding, fittings, decor are all of high quality and nothing seems to be too much trouble.

It's in a central location between Bury St. Edmunds and Ipswich, Stowmarket is a typical Suffolk town and well worth a visit, especially if you include the East Anglian Museum - cafe is excellent too.

You don't need to bring loads of supplies, Jo has a welcome pack of bread, cake, milk and cheese anyway, and there's a Tesco near the A.14 and Asda in Stowmarket, Lidl just out of Stowmarket to the west.

Thoroughly recommended - but don't following the directions through the Cottage companies.

Instead: Turn off the A.14 towards Stowupland (hint: turn downhill and there's a Tesco close by). Follow the 1120 past Stowupland Co-op garage on the right, follow round the very sharp right hand bend and when the road starts to bend to the left take the small turn to the right, Forward Green.
Follow the meandering road, turn right at the very mini roundabout past the allotments, keep on going. Upper Langdale Farm road is on the right as you're going downhill.

“New Years Break”
Reviewed January 4, 2014 for a stay in December 2013

Granary Cottage was a beautiful cottage for us all to stay in over the new years period. Lovely, homely cottage. We stayed for 3 days and had a very relaxing and enjoyable experience. Location was peaceful and perfect for afternoon outings in the countryside. Highly recommend this cottage to anyone after a peaceful and relaxing break. The whole experience with Johanne was easy and stress free very organised and helpful owner.

“Superb cottage with friendly owner.”
Reviewed September 27, 2013 for a stay in September 2013

A superb holiday cottage, furnished to a very high standard. Jo, the property owner, took execellent care of us leaving cake, milk, bread & cheese from the local farm store for us to enjoy. She also helped us get the most from our stay by preparing an excellent guide to the area as well as giving personal
recommendations, which we took full advantage of.
An extremely comfortable cottage, run by the most helpful host we have had in many years staying in holiday homes in different parts of the UK & Ireland.
A real gem.

“'Hidden Gem'”
Reviewed March 16, 2013 for a stay in December 2012

I travelled for the first time down to Suffolk to relax over the festive period Christmas/new year. I got recommended to stay there through a friend who lives in the area..and was delightfully greeted and made most welcome. I would definitely recommend this 'tranquil get away' as it's a fantastic place to unwind in the nice Suffolk countryside. It's remote but the train station is nearby near by which makes it's accessible too.

My partner has walking difficulties which was something that had to be consided.
The cottage we stayed in was 'cute' with a beautiful view and was also managerble to get around, so therefore we would definitely come back again!

“Pure Relaxation”
Reviewed March 10, 2013 for a stay in September 2012

Beautifully renovated and upgraded. Everything you could want to hand - with helpful welcome pack of coffee, tea, milk, bread, cheese etc. on arrival.

In the middle of nowhere - yet easy access to Tesco (10 mins by car) and Stowmarket itself - Asda, etc.

Useful location for discovering the area, good shopping, culture, historic places to visit - Ipswich 30 mins or so via A.14, Norwich 40 mins, Bury St. Edmunds, Cambridge, Aldeburgh, Southwold, etc. all in easy reach by car.

Lovely area for cycling too.
