“A business trip at the Cedars Hotel”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

Stayed at this hotel for One night, The food in the restaurant was excellent value for money, The rooms are a little tired and could do with some refurbishment. Be aware of room nine the walls are so thin I could hear the occupants of the room next door snoring all night. Wifi Did not work for most of the evening. The staff in the hotel were all extremely friendly.

Room Tip: Ask for a refurbished room

I stayed at the Cedars hotel for 2 nights in the beginning of March. Lovely rooms, with VERY comfy beds, great food, and the owners and staff were delightful. We had the curry for curry night on friday which was delicious. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone staying in the area!

stayed for one night on 6th march 2013,only booked one hour before arrival and negotiated a discount on double room with breakfast for £45.This is my second stay the the cedars and the standard of comfort was excellent, extremely comfortable bed,so much so i looked to see what brand it was and nticed a label saying it was less than 2 years old.Had a lovely chicken curry in the bar in the evening, overall excellent food and very clean and tidy room, would highly recommend room 15...enjoy your stay,i did.

Room Tip: rooms in the new annex are nice....15,16,17,18 ,19

Having visited during the day for business I did not know what to expect as an overnight guest. Both my husband and I were very pleasantly surprised right from the initial booking when I explained that my husband was disabled and the relevant questions were asked by the receptionist. To the consideration of moving our room away from the function room incase we wanted to leave the function before the end and it was too noisy to sleep.

The room was warm, clean and tidy with a lovely large bed ,and the bathroom was well appointed.Buffet food at the function was good as was the breakfast the next morning.Staff were very quick pleasant and polite.

This was a last minute booking and I was very pleasantly surprised.Reception afforded a really warm and friendly welcome and i was shown to my room.It was a very spacious, spotlessly clean, and warm room.Bathroom was clean and bath a generous size for a good soak after a long journey.Have to say the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly throughout my stay.
The building and decor are a little dated but benefits far outweigh that.
Ate in the bar and the fishcakes followed by shredded beef were thoroughly enjoyable.
Bed was incredibly comfortable and i enjoyed a tremendous night's sleep.
Had a full english which was good but they could do with a greater choice on the table...fresh fruit?
Enjoyed the stay and would certainly return.

Don't believe any negs on this place - just celebrated our wedding reception here and it was top notch. The function room is perfect - big and square and a blank canvas to turn into whatever the imagination can come up with. The staff are friendly and polite and the service and attention first class. Food excellent quality and value for money - every time we called in lunchtime or evening the bar was busy which is good testament.....and they don't charge hotel prices for drinks. Breakfast was great.
All of our guests thoroughly enjoyed the evening and are still buzzing about it. So much so that we have just rebooked for a party later in the year with the same guests and entertainment.
Quite honestly if you are looking for a place for a function where your guests are up for a good time and you don't want to pay out an absolute fortune then look no further than the Cedars. Thanks to Jonathan and his team from my wife and I. Fabulous.

This is fair value for money & the room was clean & comfy. The staff were helpful & polite However they could perhaps benefit from more staff in the daytime & the breakfast was very bad, we had to leave most of it & eat elsewhere.
