1,5 hr drive from Istanbul, lovely SPA hotel on the shore of Sapanca Lake with elegant rooms. Cost efficient. Lake swimming also possible.

The best thing about the hotel is that you can not stay in the hotel with your child younger than 12 years old, to provide the romantic escape. The location on the coast of Lake Sapanca is olsa very nice. The design of the rooms and the commen spaces are very attractive. And the SPA Center... Try all the rooms (saunas, fin baths, turkish bath, adventure shower, mint room etc.) and take a soft Bali Massage...
Try to stay in the upper suit rooms. All the rooms have different design and one have a jakuzzi in the balcony outside.
It does worth to pay for all these...

I stayed here for a weekend, for business. The hotel is situated perfectly at the borders of the lake of Sapanca, and offers splendid views. the "mountains" at the other side of the highway (a few km from the hotel) offer probably also some opportunities for those who prefer other views of nature. The hotel is light and well designed, the bathroom is well equiped with all type of amenities, but that could well be expected (and maybe even rather from brand names?) in a spa hotel. The food even at the buffets is of good quality and diversity. I did not use spa, but it was well appreciated by some of the colleagues. The rooms all give on the patio, and so some could complain about privacy when you move around. It is not ideal for the noise that may be made in the open bar in the middle, but it gives a different feeling in this set-up. In the summer, I am sure it must be even better, with also a large outdoor swimming pool. Children are not allowed.

We have stayed in Richmond Nua Wellness in Nov as a short escape from İstanbul's hectic life. Room was well decorated and corner suits even have jakuzi in it with a nice lake view. It was during the week so hotel was not so crowded. At the weekends, I guess it may be a little bit disturbing because all those hot rooms and pools are small and not designed for many people. Lobby area is nice, located in the middle of the hotel. Dinner menu was not so attractive. We have ordered a caviar soup and salmon rolls for starter but didn't find so delicious. Fish was far more than satisfactory and ordinary market wine even cost a fortune. So as a result, ıt was a very nice spa hotel bearing all in one place but should it cost that money? Definitely No. With the money spent, you can fly to Antalya, stay in a luxurious spa hotel and save some of your money!!

Room Tip: Corner suits have lake view and a jakuzi

I usually don't trust it when a review just praises the hotel but I can't find a fault of Richmond Spa. I used the spa facilities and have a facial at Richmond Nua Wellness Sapanca, both were great and exceeded all kinds of expectations. It has a very nice lake view, especillay the lobby area is very chic. Rooms seem to be comfortable and nice enough(even though I hadn't stayed). And after seeing the Peninsula's and Banyan Tree's Spa facilities, without a doubt I can say Richmond Sapanca's Spa is better than those two. I don't know about the food but the herbal tea served at the spa was very good. Even though I live about 5 km.s from the hotel I am planning a weekend stay there which will sure include a massage!
