The history is amazing. The views are spectacular. The people were all very pleasant, even on a hot crowded day. We loved our day here.
Bonifacio's Old Town, with a labyrinth of narrow streets and historic buildings, was built by the Genoese and is a fascinating place to wander around. The medieval houses are precariously teetering on the edge of the imposing limestone cliffs.
We rode the train up for 10 euro each. The driver told us all about everything we saw but in French. There are plenty of stairs and walkways but not for the faint of heart.
I loved the store with all the items made from cork and the wood from olive trees.
Notice the photo with the small chapel - behind this chapel are stairs leading down to a very nice beach for swimming.
