The principal activity of this place is to get storks back into the Alsatian villages by breeding them and then suppressing their migratory instincts (as the great majority of migrating birds get killed). The more controversial reintroduction of otters seems to be on hold. Presumably to make money to support this activity, the park has been opened up to visitors as an "attraction", and other animals have been added, as well as a show of the fishing methods of various birds and mammals. The storks are worth seeing, and the show is interesting, although we were dubious about the ethics of keeping a large Californian Sea-Lion in a small enclosure and pool. The rest all seems a bit tatty and slightly run down

Interesting park, great for kids and interesting for the parents. Have never seen a stork so close until visiting the park. Hands-on, informative exhibits, fun for the entire family.

There is a lot of information available about the white storks but even if you don't want to read all of it the park is an outstanding experience. I visited the park with my wife and 4 and 2 years old children. There were many birds and other animals to watch, not just the white storks. You can watch the newborns to be fed and if you are extremely lucky, maybe watch them to born.

We spent about two hours in the park and our children ran and watched everything with a great enthusiast. Except the animals, there also is activities like labyrinth, watch towers and tunnels, activity path etc. There are many toilets and a restaurant/cafeteria inside the park. The paths are gravel but we still able to use our strollers. Free parking.

We went here today and really enjoyed it. There are storks everywhere, and they have several spots where you can get really close to the nests to take pictures. They also have the Grand Hamster of Alsace, which is a giant hamster that is endangered in that area. It was fun to watch them. Know, though, that the otter and hamster section is closed from 12:30 to 1:30.

The cafe is minimal. They have lots of kinds of drinks (including a local beer that my husband said was really good) but the food is pretty much gas station food. They do have a tarte flambee, but it's only served from 12-2, and we were there at the wrong time.

We were really impressed by this place. It says it has been open for many years but it all looks very new, clean and spacious. There are no cages and it is lovely to see all the animals. The show was good, even though it was only in French. My kids also really loved the playground. The lookouts looked right into the nest and allowed great viewing. The otters had a large area to roam too, although were easily visible. I highly recommend this place for a couple of hours. I is much better value than the butterfly place which is the same price.
