Owner description: Finca Dracula offers an unique opportunity to meet some of the rarest orchids from the tropics with its more than 2,000 different orchid species. Around this diverse collection, is the most exotic garden in Panama wich incorporates rare native plants you would never see unless you go deep in the forest. We make the most of our "Eternal Spring".

I have visited 4 times and will visit more. Every time I visit, there are different orchids in bloom. This is a magnificent conservatory. The only drawback it the road to it.

Lovely setting, Knowledgeable staff. Unfortunately very wet day. Would've loved hanging out in one of their many charming outdoor seating areas.

Gorgeous tropical gardens with a stream, pool and waterfall and orchid tour. Admission is a bit expensive ($10/person) but you will learn a lot about orchids and the guide was very knowledgeable. The tour itself is quite short unless you are an orchid fancier in which case I am sure they would be more than pleased to answer all your questions for hours. It was raining the day we came so we did a quick walk though the very beautiful gardens and took many photos, but did not linger. You could make a relaxing afternoon of it if the weather is good. There are many tucked away areas to sit and enjoy your environs. There is no restaurant on the premises, but you might want to call and ask if you can bring a picnic lunch, because this would be charming spot to have one. Note you will need a 4-wheel drive to go off road all the way to the entrance of Finca Dracula or you will have to park on the main road and walk up the hill about ten minutes.

The drive to Finca Dracula is also gorgeous and on your way back, stop at some of the road side stands to purchase fresh produce, pastries and candy - very reasonable prices. One small market on the left hand side after leaving Finca Dracula was selling a huge bag of mixed produce for $5 which would probably feed a family of 4 for a week. We bought bananas for 5 cents apiece and the most delicious ripe tomatoes for $.50 a pound. The people in Cerro Punta are very nice and we tried to buy a little something from each stand that was on the block including some yummy empanadas stuffed with strawberry jam. The strawberries (grown in the area) were on the expensive side (more than we pay in CA during strawberry season) so we skipped them, but I bet you they taste better than what you would get at your typical US supermarket.

A little pricey the entrance but worth the stop. Learned a lot about something I previously knew nothing about and now appreciate the diversity of orchids. They have done a good job setting up this place and it has quite a history. I think almost anyone with an interest in plants could benefit from coming here.

This is a visit that will take you the best part of an afternoon. Admission is pricey. Bring your camera. You will see orchids like you have never seen before. Located at the very far end of Cero Punta
