First the good: Our instructor, Brendan, was awesome. It was our first time diving and we did the open water certification. He was very laid back and made us feel very comfortable.
The bad: The manager (owner?) Adam, however, rushed us through the book portion of the course and seemed to have a snarky comment every time we saw him. I asked ahead of time if it was best to do the book portion online at home and he really seemed to lean toward doing it onsite. However, it felt like him having to set up a computer for us was annoying him and when we were taking too long he would pop into where we were working and push us to just focus on the review questions. Perhaps he just wanted us to enjoy ourselves and finish up, but it was like a typhoon outside and he was otherwise full of bad attitude. We asked if there was anywhere we'd be more likely to find vegan food and he said flatly "America", though there was a restaurant literally two doors down, with clearly marked vegetarian items. And oh yeah, it turns out he frequents the place. We also arrived at 8:45 on two days (after being told to arrive "around 8:30") and got snide comments from Adam both days. The equipment was a little shabby as well. Almost all the wet suits were torn, with one giving my husband a big welt under his arm from the friction of a bad seam. The first snorkel I was handed had black spots all over the inside of the mouthpiece, which might have been innocuous, but looked disgusting. So while our instructor was awesome, I might not recommend going to Dolphin Dive if you are easily annoyed by jerk people or are picky about equipment, as I am.
