“Great Place!”
Reviewed December 1, 2012

My girlfriend and I flew to the corn islands over Thanksgiving for a dive trip, but unfortunately we stayed at Little Corn Beach and Bungalow and to this day we still wish we had stayed at Casa Iguana. We found Casa Iguana our first night on the island after getting lost trying to find our way to the town. We were met by a super cool bar/restaurant built on a cliff overlooking the water and eastern side of the island. The guy and two girls running the show were super friendly, and they make some killer drinks! Definitely try the Basilito if you make it there.

The owner also owned Little Corn dive shop, so Casa Iguana knew all about the local conditions and they really helped us get acquainted to the island. They made a killer french toast breakfast, and the view overlooking the island couldn't be beat. They had an awesome volleyball court and every day some of the local guys would go around recruiting people to play.

If you are looking for a friendly atmosphere, great drinks and food, awesome view, and a place to learn all the great spots around the island, go to Casa Iguana. It will definitely be the place we stay the next time we do a dive trip to Little Corn Island.

My wife and I stayed 5 nights over the last week. We stayed in casita #2. Given the remoteness, it was nice- clean, with a great view from the porch facing the ocean. It was reasonably priced (breakfast at $6 is a bit steep, though). It must have rained 4 inches while we were there and thankfully the roof didn't leak.

The staff was quite helpful and keeps the main bar/lodge clean, not easy to do with all the rain, sand, and mud. They had wifi and some games which were helpful during the crap weather.

We would stay here again, but it would have been nice to be able to take a warm-ish shower.

The view and location of this place was great. The staff was laid back and helpful. The complaints are with the cleanliness of the rooms. I had to wipe down dead bugs off the windowsills, our bedding seemed clean, but it was stained and had holes in it. It was double the price of the bunk rooms at little corn beach and bungalows - it did have a view, but you're better off down the beach if you can get a room there, otherwise this place certainly does the trick.

Douglas J, Manager at Casa Iguana, responded to this review, November 29, 2012
We truly appreciate all feedback from our guests at Casa Iguana, as both negative and positive comments help us as we strive to provide the most enjoyable experience for our guests. We hope that all guests address any issues they may have with their rooms with one of our managers on duty, as guest satisfaction is our primary goal. The elements on the island consistently take a toll on everything on the island, including our linens. Casa Iguana always checks the condition of its linens to provide a clean and comfortable stay and has recently switched out several sets. We apologize for any displeasure this guest experienced based on cleanliness. Also, unfortunately there are no dryers on the island, so all of our linens are dried on a line... and clothes pin leave rust marks on some of the sheets due to the moisture on the island.

The room that this guest stayed in was a Casita~ which is in fact double the price of the bunk rooms at LCBB. However, our Casitas have an amazing view of the sea, have a private bathroom and a private shower, amenities that the bunk rooms at LCBB do not have. They are also spaced much further away from neighboring cabins. We also offer Cabanas with shared bathrooms and showers for guests, ranging in price from $20- $45 a night based on season, number of guests, and length of stay.

Thank you again for your review of Casa Iguana!

I didn't stay here, but spent almost every day at Casa Iguana! Best breakfast on the island, with an incredible view! The group dinners nightly were also a lot of fun, although you do have the option of having your own table if you want something more private. I can't express how amazing the staff is here, they will go out of there way to make sure everything you could possible want is taken care of! Thanks again Jacq, Doug, Emma, and Megs for making our trip a memorable experience! See you guys soon!

Best coffee and fruit on island. I didn't stay here but spent everyday day with these awesome friends for my two week stay. The team was friendly and hospitable from open to close. The chefs passion for food was obvious and delicious. My trip wouldn't have been the same without Casa Iguana! Thank you guys from mammoth :)

Casa Iguana is a nice spot on the beautiful Little Corn Island. The main house has beatiful views over the sea. The little cousy cabanas are located right next to the beach under coconut trees. Breakfest served by Casa Iguana was great especially remembering the fresh coconut toast. Part of our stay there was stormy weather and then we just stayed in the cabana listening music, and sea and coconuts falling on the metal roof of the cabana. The nature is the dominant power here thus one cannot take granted the leaving from this tropical getaway, so don't be tight with your schedule. :)
