“Spectacular lunch spot with good food”

We were staying on Corn Island and walked along the beach to Casa Iguana. The restaurant is high above a beautiful pristine stretch of beach. The views from the simple wooden deck are striking - the beach, the palm trees and the endless sea. The fish sandwiches were fresh and well made, as was the club sandwich. The place has a relaxed and comfortable feel; one could easily sip the afternoon away there ...

We popped in here for lunch to appreciate the views, and to put some laundry in as these guys were the only place we found that offer a laundry service for non-guests.

Lunch - you probably can't find a better spot for overlooking the bay on that side of the island. Beautiful deck, kept clean and with a nice bridge as you're up high on the cliff. We were there at the beginning of high season and everywhere was struggling somewhat with supplies, and we opted for the fish burger from the limited lunch selection. What we got was a fried burger patty that was a mix of very salty fish scraps - not a nice fillet like everywhere else on the island (hear about Tranquilo's taco's?). It made both of us feel a bit off afterwards, even though neither of us could finish it. :(

Laundry - it somehow took them well over 24 hours to produce washing that generally smelt like stinky dog and half of it was soaking wet - suspect the second half was forgotten about until the last minute. My towel had to be hand washed immediately when we got back to our accommodation as it smelt that bad - no idea what they did to it! :-/

This is a great location to eat, and also to stay when visiting Little Corn Island. Abner and the staff were helpful, personable and their pride in Casa Iguana was evident. Simple and clean accommodations, and fantastic breakfasts were highlights. The organic coffee is not to be missed!

Casa Iguana is located just above a cliff overlooking the Carribean Sea, you'll either have an awesome view of the Little Corn Island Coast or a show of a beautiful lightining storm bouncing against the water. The mood is mellow much like the rest of the island, but their drinks are nothing near mellow. Catch happy hour around 6-7 and try an array of flavored Flor De Cana, and probably your first ever Jalapeno shot. They also have a signiature drink called the basilito, which involves freca and fresh basil that kept me coming back every night. Last but not least I would like to mention the staff. Two of the bartenders were US citizens (Liz and Ashley), both amazing girls and the owner Abner was always onsite making sure you had a good time. Definitely became one of my favorite places to relax on the island. With much Love to my new friends on Corn Island -Mitch aka. Jesus
