“Best food ever”
Reviewed January 16, 2013

We did not stay here because they were fully booked over the Holiday season but luckily we decided to eat here and the food was phenomenal. My favorite meal was dinner, for $10.00 we received an appetizer, salad, amazing fish entree, and dessert. Dinner here was my favorite of our entire trip and I really enjoyed the friendly service. The women working the restaurant had huge smiles and constantly asked how we were doing. Even when the restaurant was closing the lady told us we can stay as long as we liked and they would wait to shut down. Very happy we got to experience Little Corn Beach and Bungalow.

We thank our generous guests for their kind comments. Recently, we have gone through about a week of no village power, no village provided water and have had to "creatively find" answers to our electricity and water problems and have done the best we can to maintain our high level of service and quality with the hope that our guests will not notice the effort involved in keeping everything "normal". We are blessed by the fact that we have the most empathetic people visiting us that you could ever imagine. We want to thank each and every one of our clients for their patience and understanding during the most challenging times we have faced on the island. MUCHOS GRACIAS!

We didn’t stay here but we ate at the restaurant (called the Turned Turtle, which is excellent). We tried to make reservations at this place on-line but we were too late as they were booked for the Christmas/New Year break six months in advance. It’s no wonder. We were chatting with the owners and asked if we could peek at a room. They had one group who had not checked in yet so they kindly gave us a tour. That’s when buyer’s remorse set in. The bungalows are gorgeous, the setting is perfect and the beach is beautiful. This is by far the nicest place to stay on the island and the prices were about the same as the tired place we were staying at. They have an on-site masseuse (Sara) who also teaches yoga classes. We had massages and they were great (warning, Sara is strong). The owners are personally on-site managing the place (unlike where we were staying) and very committed to providing great service. If you want beautiful bungalow on the beach, great food, great service, nice owners, nice staff and nice dogs, all at a fair price, this IS THE ONLY place to stay on Little Corn.

Where to begin - I don't know how many times our group of 4 (2 couples around 30 years old) said that Little Corn was the best place we'd ever been but it's definitely largely in part to LCBB and the staff there. As long as you have done your research and decided that carless, roadless, non-commercial Little Corn is your kind of place, you won't be disappointed.

Panga ride - $3 Cordoba tax at Big Corn to get through the gates, and then $6 USD per person for the ride. As others have said, near the back is less bumpy but wetter, and in the front you'll have a better chance of staying dry but move around a lot more. We were at the very front on the way there and stayed pretty much dry but I did let out more than one shriek going over some of the waves. Well worth the ride for 5 days at Little Corn (would have stayed much longer if we could!) and the panga ride back was 10x better, not sure if that was just the seas that day, but the ride back to Big Corn was totally smooth (we were nearer the back that time but didn't even get a splash).

Let Scot know what panga you're arriving on and someone will be there to meet you with a sign and carry your stuff by wheelbarrow for the 10 minute walk through the jungle. Beautiful walk, but make sure to bring a flashlight for night. Scot will run through everything once you arrive and explain a lot of the eco friendly features that the resort has which is just another added bonus of staying there. We did not do the D&A package but I loved that during our stay, the hotel just added whatever we were ordering from the restaurant onto a tab which we settled at the end (and tipped at that time too so that the whole staff gets a share of the tips). I wasn't sure how well this was going to work for keeping track, but I had a little record going while we were there of everything we ordered and the bill at the end of our stay was bang on. Made it super convenient for not having to make change, find tipping money, and I did love that the system they have in place makes sure that all of the staff gets a share of the tip since every one of them deserves it. I've never stayed anywhere with such an incredible staff - they work around the clock and all of them with a smile, remembering who all of the guests are and they all made us love it there even more.

We were in Master Suite Crusoe which appeared to be one of the only casitas on the beach that did not have a loft (fine by us as we were only 2 people and it's priced cheaper than the ones that do have the loft, fridge, larger sitting area and deck). Scot showed us how to properly use a mosquito net for the first time, explained the hot water shower (heaven after a day at the beach during the "power hours" from 2pm-6am), and then we were left to ourselves to enjoy 5 of the most relaxing days we've ever had in one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in on vacation.

Food in the restaurant was delicious (we're not seafood eaters but our friends are and loved it - the chicken, beef and pork dishes that we had were all excellent and you can't beat the $2.99 GIANT pancake and bacon for breakfast). The four course dinners are also an incredible value. Since we are big chicken eaters most of our dinners were only $9 each for starter, soup/salad, generous entree and dessert. I can see how people would get a great value with the D&A package but we did like having the option to head out some other places for lunch/dinner and not feel like we were double spending on meals (Tranquilo Cafe had the best tacos and chicken burgers on the island, and Casa Iguana was the best setting for some beers and plaintain/bean dip!)

Our friends both got massages and were extremely impressed with the lady working at the Firefly studio. I had a bit of a cold so couldn't join in on the dives but my boyfriend went diving with Dive Little Corn (linked through Casa Iguana) and it was one of the most relaxed fun shops he's ever dived with (my friend even joined him to finish her Open Water - MUCH better than diving in Canada!) Aside from that we mainly enjoyed the wonderful scenery at LCBB, comfy hammocks to relax in and just unwound for 5 days in what we're glad to have discovered as paradise.

Room Tip: All of the Master Suites are amazing, but people coming by with no reservations seemed happy even to...

Intended to stay 3 nights at the LCBB early December 2012 but loved it soooo much, we decided to stay an extra 2 days. Arrived by Panga, our luggage was loaded onto a wooden cart by two helpful young men and we were led through the jungle to LCBB. Just getting there was an adventure! The cabins were high and dry with billowing mosquito nets, private shower and comfy beds. The porch was great for watching the early morning sun rise or for just chilling in the shade. Beach was soft and sandy with kayaks for a bit of fun along the coast. Lots of diving and snorkeling opportunities and deep fishing. The restaurant was better than good with creative dishes and addictive slushy drinks like the "mudslide" and margaritas. Lots of hammocks for afternoon reading or snoozing and the walk along the beach to the other side of the island was a treat. Miss Lucy takes very good care of guests and the staff are well trained and attentive. There are lots of very inexpensive places to stay on Little Corn Island but none has the charm or the food or the service that is at LCBB. We will never forget this place.

Room Tip: There are a few different room options. We had a two bed Robinson first and then a Crusoe. Both goo...

Little Corn Island is paradise! Because it is paradise, we could have pitched a tent here for our clients and done alright. Our goal though is to have happy guests like Delihlah go home with great memories and a smile!

Our Christmas wish is that Little Corn Beach and Bungalow has a minimal but positive impact on our little island and the people that live here. And for our guests . . . memories for a life time! Merry Christmas to all!

Stayed here in May 2012 for 5 days or so. Gorgeous place on a gorgeous island. Loved every bit of it. More expensive than other places on the island, but a fraction of the cost that I would expect to pay for a place this nice.

What an awesome experience. We arrived on Little Corn and were greeted immediately at the Panga by a polite little guy who carried our luggage across the island to the resort. There after Lucy clued us in on what to expect during our stay and we got our first look at our wonderful for little place. Our Bungalow (Seckirk Suite) is adorable and very clean with a wonderful view of the ocean from the porch.

That night at the Turned Turtle Restaurant (at LCBB) we met our (unknown to us at the time) full time companion and guardian, "Bushman, King of the Island". Bushman is an amazing german shephard mix who has a lot to say. He accompanied us all over the island day and night and slept outside our bungalow. He was incredible and made being away from our pooch much easier.

During our stay we ate at two breakfasts and one dinner at the Turned Turtle which were very tasty, fresh and well priced. The LCBB staff, Lucy, Billy, Stacey, and Suncu were very friendly and made us feel right at home. We also had the opportunity to talk to Kristine and Scott, the Owners of LCBB who told us the very interesting story of how the LCBB came about and great deal of work and dedication it takes to keep up such a lovely place. I have attached pictures, but they do not do the place justice.

LCBB is located across the Island which gives an opportunity for some great hikes and sight-seeing while traveling to the village. But if you prefer to stay at LCBB the beach is the most beautiful on the island.

Over all LCBB and Little Corn Island was a great experience. We definitely want to go back soon and see the LCBB crew (esspecially Bushman) again! Thank you everyone at LCBB for an awesome vacation -see you again soon!

Room Tip: Suites at North end of Resort may be quieter as the people living at the South end seems to be a bit...

Ah, Bushman . . . we love that dog. While he is "king" and head "tourist dog" he daily brings everyone at the hotel great joy! He may be an island dog (no "home" and no owner) but he shows up twice a day to LCBB for breakfast and dinner (sometimes two times for each meal). Thanks for you great review and come back to see Bushman and us soon!

Just returned from 4 nights at LCBB. My husband and I can now afford to travel with a bit of luxury, and even though LCBB is rustic, it feels very comfortable and relaxing. It's a laid back kind of place where you can stay as active or passive as you want. I enjoyed just sitting on the deck or on the beach listening to the sound of the waves, the wind rustling in the trees, and the birds chirping. The restaurant was excellent and even though we didn't purchase the meal plan, we ate all our meals there because it was just so easy to stay put and everything we ate was delicious. What was most impressive about the resort was how attentive, friendly, and professional the staff is. Everyone who worked there was helpful and responsive without being intrusive. They were obviously well trained and well supervised. I loved being able to walk right out of our cabin and be on the sand and eat at the restaurant while listening to the ocean waves. The resort is clean and well taken care of and the maintenance of the grounds is excellent. There is an obvious pride in the care of this place and we felt really good being there. We walked all around the island and this would be the only accommodation we would be comfortable staying in. Even though there is no air conditioning, the ocean breezes kept the cabin cool at night. The shower worked well with sufficient hot water. The room is small, but we didn't spend much time inside the room since the beach and gardens are so quiet and relaxing. My only (and this is minor) complaint is that you are only given one towel every three days- no hand towels, no wash cloths. I don't mind re-using the bath towel, but I would have appreciated a hand towel. We have stayed at many 5 star beach resorts around the world, but this was just as enjoyable at a fraction of the cost and I would return in a heartbeat. It's one of the best kept secrets around.
