Stayed here in May 2012 for 5 days or so. Gorgeous place on a gorgeous island. Loved every bit of it. More expensive than other places on the island, but a fraction of the cost that I would expect to pay for a place this nice.

What an awesome experience. We arrived on Little Corn and were greeted immediately at the Panga by a polite little guy who carried our luggage across the island to the resort. There after Lucy clued us in on what to expect during our stay and we got our first look at our wonderful for little place. Our Bungalow (Seckirk Suite) is adorable and very clean with a wonderful view of the ocean from the porch.

That night at the Turned Turtle Restaurant (at LCBB) we met our (unknown to us at the time) full time companion and guardian, "Bushman, King of the Island". Bushman is an amazing german shephard mix who has a lot to say. He accompanied us all over the island day and night and slept outside our bungalow. He was incredible and made being away from our pooch much easier.

During our stay we ate at two breakfasts and one dinner at the Turned Turtle which were very tasty, fresh and well priced. The LCBB staff, Lucy, Billy, Stacey, and Suncu were very friendly and made us feel right at home. We also had the opportunity to talk to Kristine and Scott, the Owners of LCBB who told us the very interesting story of how the LCBB came about and great deal of work and dedication it takes to keep up such a lovely place. I have attached pictures, but they do not do the place justice.

LCBB is located across the Island which gives an opportunity for some great hikes and sight-seeing while traveling to the village. But if you prefer to stay at LCBB the beach is the most beautiful on the island.

Over all LCBB and Little Corn Island was a great experience. We definitely want to go back soon and see the LCBB crew (esspecially Bushman) again! Thank you everyone at LCBB for an awesome vacation -see you again soon!

Room Tip: Suites at North end of Resort may be quieter as the people living at the South end seems to be a bit...

Ah, Bushman . . . we love that dog. While he is "king" and head "tourist dog" he daily brings everyone at the hotel great joy! He may be an island dog (no "home" and no owner) but he shows up twice a day to LCBB for breakfast and dinner (sometimes two times for each meal). Thanks for you great review and come back to see Bushman and us soon!

Just returned from 4 nights at LCBB. My husband and I can now afford to travel with a bit of luxury, and even though LCBB is rustic, it feels very comfortable and relaxing. It's a laid back kind of place where you can stay as active or passive as you want. I enjoyed just sitting on the deck or on the beach listening to the sound of the waves, the wind rustling in the trees, and the birds chirping. The restaurant was excellent and even though we didn't purchase the meal plan, we ate all our meals there because it was just so easy to stay put and everything we ate was delicious. What was most impressive about the resort was how attentive, friendly, and professional the staff is. Everyone who worked there was helpful and responsive without being intrusive. They were obviously well trained and well supervised. I loved being able to walk right out of our cabin and be on the sand and eat at the restaurant while listening to the ocean waves. The resort is clean and well taken care of and the maintenance of the grounds is excellent. There is an obvious pride in the care of this place and we felt really good being there. We walked all around the island and this would be the only accommodation we would be comfortable staying in. Even though there is no air conditioning, the ocean breezes kept the cabin cool at night. The shower worked well with sufficient hot water. The room is small, but we didn't spend much time inside the room since the beach and gardens are so quiet and relaxing. My only (and this is minor) complaint is that you are only given one towel every three days- no hand towels, no wash cloths. I don't mind re-using the bath towel, but I would have appreciated a hand towel. We have stayed at many 5 star beach resorts around the world, but this was just as enjoyable at a fraction of the cost and I would return in a heartbeat. It's one of the best kept secrets around.

I just returned from a 3 night stay at this beautiful place. My adventurous parents, two brothers, and I stayed in the Gulliver cabin, which we found to be exactly what we were looking for.

The cabins are actually right on the sand. The beach itself is narrow but spectacular. The property has lots of lovely palm trees and hammocks in shady places, perfect for afternoon reading or naps. The beach itself, while not huge, is well-kept and quiet. The water is clear and warm... we heard that the snorkeling is great too.

We were so impressed by the on-site restaurant. The logistics of providing consistently great food seem enormous considering how isolated the island is. I was particularly impressed by the lobster, which is the tastiest I've ever had, anywhere. We also thought the prices were totally reasonable. This food wasn't cheap nicaraguan street food, folks, so don't be surprised by the fact that your 4-course dinner will cost $12-16.

The local staff was also delightful, perfectly attentive without being annoying. We were impressed by how kind and dedicated everyone was.

All in all, this was one of the better spots we've visited. I would return in a heartbeat. I highly recommend this place for low-maintenance, adventurous travelers who seek peaceful, beautiful places.

If you're willing for a bit of adventure getting here, put LCB&B on your short list! A tray with coffee & tea was quietly placed on our porch just after sunrise. We had the D&A package and ate all of our meals there (50 total - we were a family of 5 adults), and every one was delicious. We tried nearly everything on the menu and favorites included Island Benedict, Fish Tacos, Parmesan Crusted Fish and chocolate chip toasted coconut cookies. Our cabin was spotless, our king size bed was very comfortable - better than our hotels in Managua and Grenada, and the staff were all very friendly and competent. Their attention to detail, respect for the environment, honesty, concern for their employees and neighbors and less fortunate people and animals is genuine. Their web site accurately portrays the setting, accommodations, menus, and travel considerations. We left with hope of returning again and have already recommended LCB&B to some of our more adventurous friends!

Hello, I just read the review below that was not too kind about the Restaurant at LCBB and just felt I had to drop a quick note to say that I have stayed at LCBB and dined at the Turned Turtle Restaurant 3 times and had 9 dinners, 9 lunches and 9 breakfasts there (at least) and have ABSOLUTELY loved every single meal - the food is the best I have had in Nicaragua and really is not at all overpriced considering you are eating...on an island... :-). The staff is fantastic, the beef the best available in the country and the drinks are just delicious - the best is the atmosphere, being right on the beach - seeing the starts, listening to the waves, its pretty fantastic. I'd hopped on trip advisor to send the link along to my family who will be visiting in February. I am planning trip 4 back to LCBB and can't wait for some tasty meals!
Thanks so much!

I must also say, since I've seen so many comparisons to Casa Iguana, that I have eaten there and stayed one night at Casa Iguana when LCBB was booked last February and it just doesn't compare, the cabins are not as nice and the food isn't great, yes Iguana is a great spot and has fantastic views, but its more of a backpackers type spot, if you want a little taste of luxury on Little Corn, you must go to LCBB!

Enjoy!

On a scale of 1 to 10, we give this place a 10, possibly 11. This is one of the few places that we have traveled to (and we have been to over 30 countries) that is a must to return to.

Overall Impression: For giggles, I read some of the less than flattering reviews of LCBB on this website. Honestly, I don’t know what some people expect. Certainly, if you are looking for someone to serve you umbrella drinks around a pool, do not come here. If you are interested in drunken revelry or non-stop activities, go to Club Med. If you truly want to get away from it all yet still enjoy amenities, go to Little Corn. My wife runs a B&B, and we have learned that some people are impossible to please no matter how hard you try. One would have to be a “special” person to not enjoy LCBB.

Owners: I give Scot and Kristine the highest grades. Not only have they created a truly wonderful place to visit, they have embraced Little Corn Island and made it a better place. They have spearheaded island cleanup efforts; they started an annual veterinary clinic to spay and neuter island dogs and cats; they have organized a reading library for island children.

Staff: One of Scot and Kristine’s greatest accomplishments. The staff took great pride in their jobs and seemed genuinely happy working at LCBB. Virtually the entire staff referred to us as “Mr. William”, “Miss Melanie”, and “Mr. Theodore”. Service was always with a smile and with our comfort foremost in their minds.

Accommodations: As we were just finishing a volunteer project in Managua, we opted for the largest bungalow for the three of us, Gulliver. It was wonderful. A spacious cabin with a loft for my son, it had three fans, a nice sized shower, and the most comfortable bed we had in Nicaragua. Caution: electricity and internet are not 24/7, nor is hot water. Also remember that the entire island has a fragile infrastructure; there are limitations on what can be flushed down the toilet.

Food: Scot used to work as a chef. The food is beyond superb. If you cannot find something you like on the menu, well…… Every morning, a tray of coffee, milk and sugar is left on your bungalow deck. Breakfast options included eggs Benedict, coconut French Toast, coconut pancakes, and various omelettes. Dinner options included Parmesan crusted fish, penne pasta with white wine sauce and seafood, baby back ribs, and filet.

Getting There: This may not always be for the faint of heart. However, if you truly believe that getting there is half the fun, then you will enjoy getting to LCBB. Our “larger” twin engine prop plane on La Costena Airlines had to be taken out of service (after we had already boarded). Within 20 minutes, they put all the passengers onto two single engine Cessnas to Corn Island. From there it is (supposedly) a 30 minute panga (boat) ride to Little Corn. Of course, it took about 50 minutes as we were heading directly into 18-20 foot seas. Please take my word for it – when the panga staff recommends putting EVERYTHING into plastic bags, follow their advice. I did not, and my Blackberry and camera “drowned” in my pocket during the crossing.

When To Go: There are two answers to this. First, go now. By this I mean that it is my best guess that sometime during my lifetime, Little Corn will begin to lose its charm. It is only a matter of time before the island begins being developed more seriously. Other than that, while we loved our 4 day stay, we “lost” a portion of it as it is the rainy season.

Value: We thought the place was a bargain.
