My dream for many years has been to find a little "cabana" on the beach and very close to the waters edge. The Little Corn Beach and Bungalow was exactly what I had been looking for. I have read many of the other reviews and have totally agreed with all of the positive comments. In short, the LCBB as advertised in the web site is exactly what you should expect. The only outstanding quality that is not discussed is the total commitment of the entire staff to assure the best experience of this beautiful retreat.

I did take the time as I walked the beach each morning, and I did stay in excess of one week, to view other similar accommodations and by far the LCBB is the best place to stay, by any measure, anywhere on the island.

The last small point is that their starter salid. I think it was called the cayenne salid selection, was the best starter salid I have ever eaten.

Enjoy paradise.

We were in Nicaragua for nine months and stayed at all kinds of places—gritty hostels, musty concrete box rooms, and the king-bed-and-flatscreen-equipped rooms at top hotels in Managua. Out of all that, the seven nights we spent at Little Corn B&B were the best week of our trip. It was so tranquil and peaceful, the snorkeling was amazing, the food was incredible, and the rooms were surprisingly comfortable and well-equipped for the remoteness of this beautiful place.

My partner and I came to celebrate our wedding anniversary and it was a perfect and memorable week. We went snorkeling five times and saw amazing reef life, even just snorkeling off the kayak in front of LCBB. We picked out the best snorkel gear they had and rented it instead of using the gear that snorkel guides Captain Wiskas or Rizod had (both of whom are worthy of recommendation).

The staff are so kind and helpful. We left a $100 tip and still felt that was paltry for the level of service and personal attention they provided. The food was amazing—one of the best restaurants in all of Nicaragua in our opinion. Sure, the rooms and food are more expensive than any other option on the island, but it's worth every penny for the quality you get. When we finally got bored with eating every meal there by the fourth day or so, we mixed in some Italian food from the new restaurant across the island and between the two, ate like kings (and got in some nice island walking).

The owners have thought of everything, down to lots of hooks on the walls of the cabins and a little plant in the bathroom. In front of every cabin they have a little wash tub for your feet. It was exactly what I wished for at every other beach place we stayed! Having outfitted our own house in Nicaragua, we couldn't figure out how they managed to get such nice stuff with which to equip their property. Scot and Christine are amazingly resourceful and hardworking. Their attention to detail is remarkable.

What could I find to complain about? Not much, for sure. Someone parked their fancy yacht off shore for part of a day and ran their jet-ski around (no more within the owners' control than the weather, which was incredible by the way). It made us appreciate how unspoiled the place was the other 6 1/2 days! If you own a yacht in Miami or drive a Cadillac around Dallas, please find yourself a nice, air-conditioned $200/night room in a crowded resort the Bahamas and leave these nice people alone. If you're a buena onda backpacker or Peace Corps volunteer, LCBB will either be a nice, luxurious upgrade from what you're used to or a little over the top, in which case you should get yourself over to Jiquillio to visit Rancho Esperanza (highly recommended).

For us, it was perfect. We couldn't believe that we were able to get a week of tropical paradise vacation for under U$1,000 (including airfare). It truly is one of 1,000 places you should visit before you die!

Staying at Little Corn Beach and Bungalow was an absolutely wonderful experience! The grounds are gorgeous, the prettiest beach on the island is right there, and all of the staff were very friendly and helpful!
We stayed in a bungalow, it was spacious and clean. We slept with the windows open and the fan on at night which helped a lot with air flow, it's definitely hot, but tolerable! The food and drinks were delicious, they serve 4 course meals every night, with plenty of variety. You are able to put meals and drinks on your tab, which is really nice, that way you don't have to carry money on you all of the time. You also have the option to tip at each meal or you can give one larger tip at the end which the owners split up amongst all the staff. We thought this was a nice way to thank all of the hard working staff for making our stay so enjoyable! In addition they have a great water recycling program, you can pay half the price of a bottle for a refill of purified water. This also significantly helps to decrease the number of plastic bottles littered on the island!
There is good snorkeling just a short boat ride off the property (it is possible to swim), we saw lots of fish, eagle rays and hammerhead sharks! You can rent snorkel gear from the hotel or from the folks who take you out. You can also rent sea kayaks from the hotel. The water is clear, turquoise and fairly calm for the most part, which makes for great swimming as well!
You can make your way over to the other side of the island, which includes a walk through the jungle, be sure to bring flashlights/head lamps if you plan to make the walk at night. Plenty of bug spray is also key for pretty much anywhere on the island. They sell it at the hotel if you don't feel like bringing it along. There were a few good restaurants on the other side, but if you don't want to leave Little Corn Beach and Bungalow, you don't have to!
If you are looking to travel to a beautiful place, that is off the beaten path, and a bit of an adventure, then Little Corn is the place for you. If you are looking for 5-star high rises with lots of people/crazy night life, you should probably find somewhere else!
Little Corn island is a hidden gem, and Little Corn Beach and Bungalow made our experience nothing but enjoyable! Thanks for everything Scot and Kristine!

Loved staying at this place. But in order to enjoy the whole Little Corn Island experience you have to be somewhat of a hard-core traveler. The bungalows where basic but nice (I wouldn’t recommend the bunk house). The restaurant was somewhat overpriced for Nicaragua standards, but the food was over the top with a different dinner menu each night. Located right on the beach, the grounds were beautiful. I would highly recommend having plenty of mosquito repellant on hand. There is Wi-Fi that works pretty well when the island has electricity.

Please note: If you are looking for a typical hotel experience this is not the place. That place does not exist on Little Corn Island. For a more primitive and extraordinary unspoiled beauty, you can't do better.

Room Tip: Get a bungalow and not the bunk house.

This is a nice place if you are going for the beach bungalow experience (some like it, some don't). The staff and owners were very friendly. It is more "expensive" compared to everywhere else on the island, but it is completely voluntary whether you stay here, down the beach, or on the other side of the island (this goes for where you eat as well). I have read some reviews about guests being surprised at their bill at the end of their stay and in no way did the owners or staff "hide" the prices. I recommend you check out what accommodations are available on the island (there are only a certain amount per price range)...and make your decision based on what you can afford.

Things to consider - it is on the eastern side of the island so a bit more remote and a 15 minute walk into town. Some may value this remoteness, and others may want to be near the social scene (on western side). Take care coming back and forth to the hotel at night. By being on the eastern side it is a bit more breezy, which makes up for the lack of AC..but again it is a beach bungalow, not a hotel. Up and down the beach are the more economic places...look at them and choose.

Ultimately, my wife and I enjoyed our stay, and I would recommend it to friends.

This is definitely the more "ritzy" of the places on the island.

My two sons and I spent five nights at LCBB, occasionally exploring the rest of this island paradise, but often content to go from bungalow (Gulliver's view is unbeatable) to hammock to LCBB mini-restaurant for excellent fish tacos and the best toasted coconut pina coladas anywhere. The staff is warm and friendly, the beautiful grounds well-tended and the beach couldn't be better. Shoes are barely needed unless you head to the village on the other side of the island. There's hardly anything I would do to change it except the coffee and perhaps the addition of screens to ward off at least some of the night visitors.
