We booked Paraiso hotel for 4 nights as it seemed to have good reviews and the website looks ok as well. We stayed only one night and it was a nightmare. We had cockroaches and the room smelled like sewage. We moved to Casa Canada and it was such a pleasant change. It is a very peaceful place. We stayed in the room/ cottage no 17 and it felt really private. The room was nice, spacious. Bathroom was ok shower with hot water. There were rocking chairs outside so we could enjoy warm evenings. The pool is nice and it has a gat view. There is a beautiful miles long beach just 5 min walk from the hotel.
The food was quite poor and the service is quite bad as well by that seems to be the standard on the island. We found the staff more friendly in Paraiso though.
For food go to la princesa - call the, to book a table as there is a very limited space. You will get spaghetti and seafood and can enjoy a glass of wine or a nice coffee. Otherwise try Comodor Maris - same thing - super fresh lobster but without the wine and dessert at princesa. Much cheaper though.
I'd definitely recommend Casa Canada to my friends.More
