This was our 1st stop on a 3 week trip to Nicaragua. We could not be more happy with Arenas. We opted to stay in a Bungalow which was perfect for us - 4 bedrooms with a bath in each, our own front porch and the kids felt more independent being in their own rooms (ages 11, 13 & 14). We felt safe and taken care of the whole time. The beach is clean, the sand is so incredibly soft and if you go out far enough (paddle boarding), you can see star fish right below you. This review wouldn't be complete without mentioning Stanley - he is THE MAN! He works at Arenas and our vacation wouldn't have been the same with out him. He helped arrange island tours, snorkeling and even got us set up to watch the final game in the NBA Finals (GO Warriors). If you are looking for a great place to relax, sip on a "Nica Libre" or Tona and forget about everything....this is where you need to go. The construction didn't bother us - it was at the main building and we were in our bungalow :)

Room Tip: bungalows are great for groups - your own private space! The walls are thin but if it's only your group in there, it's not a big deal

Wow, thank you! It is always appreciated when our guests leave with such incredible experiences. Stanly wanted to personally thank you as well, he really enjoyed hanging out and being you island guide! Your family was incredibly gracious and he and the whole staff really appreciated your happy vibes and charming personalities!

This hotel is poised for greatness. Currently undergoing extensive renovations, you can tell the owner and manager have great things planned! The beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. There is no seaweed and it is like glass! You can walk out 200 feet, at least, and still touch. The water is a perfect temperature! They have several beds and lounge chairs on the beach. The waiters and bartenders from the boat bar will happily bring you drinks and snacks! If you're looking to relax, this is a great choice! The rooms are not directly on the beach. They have TVs, A/C, and a bed and dresser. They are small but have everything you need.

Great place to rest and get away fron the world. Great people. Nothing fancy but excellent food and service. The beach is la a big swiming pool. It is not Cancun. The island is peacefull. It is a place to relax.

Room Tip: The bogalows are best.

It had been a dream of ours to visit this beautiful island, as native Nicaraguans, we wanted to explore more of the natural beauty that has come to characterize Nicaragua in the past few years.

Corn Island did not disappoint and Arenas Beach Hotel did not either. The staff was so friendly and courteous, they helped to make our stay even more enjoyable and special. Upon arrival, the check in was easy, we were given bands so that we could get our breakfast (included with stay) lunch, dinner and dinner are not.

We stayed in the bungalows, some of us in the rooms with two full beds and others with the one queen bed. Rooms were clean as were the bathrooms. Wifi had a good speed.

Each bungalow/cabana is made up of (4) separate rooms, only sharing the balcony where hammocks and chairs help to relax after a day at the beach.

Breakfast is included and we had no complains about the flavor, variety and prices of the food (they are pretty average) to what you expect at a resort. Try the coconut flan - you will not regret it!

We visited at the end of the May for (3) days, although considered the rainy season, we had two sunny days and on the last day it rained until our departure at midday. Due to the slow season, there was very few people and we literally had the beach to ourselves. There is no pool, but with crystal clear beach you don't need one.

The setup of the lounge chairs and cabanas along the beach was really nice, you can rent kayaks, paddle boarding for $5-$10/hour at the front desk. You can also book snorkeling and fishing trips.

Overall, we enjoyed our time at Arenas Beach Hotel and look forward to another opportunity to come visit Corn Island

Great beach and new beach bar. In the main, the staff are really friendly and helpful. I had stayed at Arenas Beach Hotel a few years ago and had a room in the main building. Back then the room was a bit basic but OK, the main observation was the bungalows that looked perfect. This time I travelled with my daughter and paid the extra for a bungalow room. it would be OK apart from each bungalow has four separate accommodations with paper thin walls. You can hear every word, sneeze, rustle in the adjacent rooms. It may not read that this is a showstopper, but if you ever stay here I am sure you will agree that it really is. After a great trip to both the corn islands, we'd had a fabulous time but departed with a feeling of a dark cloud hanging over the whole trip due to spending our last days here. Go and visit, eat, drink, enjoy the great beach, whatever. Stay in the main building, but do not be tempted by the Bungalow rooms, to us we consider them a disaster.

When I read a major objection in a review I tend to take with a grain of salt as a high maintenance traveller revue. We travel a lot and sometimes stay in mid to upper price hotels, but often do the budget traveller thing. I say this so you know we are NOT high maintenance travellers that expect a 4 star experience everywhere we go.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are very honored you returned for a second visit and enjoyed our new beach front restaurant. Please note that we are also currently remodeling all of our bungalows this summer, as well as the main hotel and lobby. We are sorry you did not enjoy the bungalows as most of our guests do, and hope you will come back when we finish the remodel. We will continue to work hard to improve our amenities and guest experience here at Arenas Beach.

Very Best!
