Laoya Inland Resort

Arriving too late to catch the last boat to Koh Chang from TDX, we thought this might be an acceptable place to stay overnight and take an early ferry the next morning. The only option for transport from TDX airport was a very expensive van (500 Baht per person) and the trip took quite a while. Then we had to wait a long time the next morning to get a song thaew to the ferry at Laem Ngop, which also took some time. Laoya Inland Resort is quite out of the way both from the airport and from the pier. As for the hotel, it was very poor (noisy, smelly, run down, hard bed, horrible breakfast), sorry to say. The restaurant across the road had good food and service, however.

We stayed here for one night because of a flight cancellation. It's located a little outside Trat town. It completely lacks atmosphere. The rooms are very basic with a outdated bathroom which seems to fall apart. There was a TV and an airconditioner however. The walls were made of cardboard. It's not possible to have lunch or dinner. The nearest restaurant is on the opposite of a busy four lane road. Breakfast was awful. The most suprising was the rate: it's suppossed to cost THB 1.000 (around EUR 20) per room per night. It should have been 300 Baht maximum. One of the worst hotels I've stayed in. And this is the best hotel in Trat Town.
