We went there in May end. Though it was off season we had a lot of fun. The cashless experience with a butler all the time is incredible. The properly it beautiful and all the staff are very welcoming.

The property is well maintained and has a lot of activities you can do. The rooms are huge and very nicely done.

Vegeterians please talk to the Chef and get your meals sorted. Apart from that everything is fantabulous.

We stayed at this resort Mid May. Didn't Start off to a good start. Starting from the Reservation process. We arrived with a 6 month old and a 3 year old to find out there was no transportation for us at the airport which was pre arranged. After calling the resort and after some confusion the Resort was able to set up transportation not the Limo/SUV but it did the job. But this was the last of our worries, once we arrived they more thank made up for this slight hiccup
Once we arrived the staff made sure that we forgot out earlier grievances! They never said NO to any of our requests. Our Personal Butler Indika was the best out there. He was there eveytime we needed him and arranged for everything. Even a great Seafood BBQ right in our villa Garden. He arranged and took care of everything
The local food was great! The Ala Cart dinner menu needs some work and more choice.
We understood its a new resort and has some teething issues but over all the service took care of all that.
Not the friendliest for kids under 2 with steep stony stairs to the villa or if it rains the walk ways become a bit muddy but the resort has a Elec buggy that takes you everywhere so nothing to worry about
Over all a great experience and definitely recommend this resort to all with breathtaking views and one of the best service out there!! And Say HI to INDIKA for us!!

Room Tip: Away from the restaurant, Marco Polo was very private and cozy

We visited Cape Weligama in mid-March for 5 nights, and were completely floored upon arrival. The lush landscape and sweeping views of the ocean are unlike anything we had ever seen. The villas are beautifully decorated, complete with cool books, fun games, snacks, and an espresso maker. The bathrooms are enormous with a steam shower, gorgeous tub, and double sinks. We also had a private infinity pool (shared with one other villa, but no one was there at the time) and stunning private patio with comfortable furniture.

Our butler Rasika responded promptly to our every need, arranging all activities and bringing food and drinks to our room at any time of day (my husband requested coffee at 6 am once!) I have to mention we were on our honeymoon and the staff went out of their way to make it extremely special. There were beautiful flowers on the bed every evening and one night when we arrived from dinner, they had drawn a bath and put candles out. Wow! So beautiful and romantic.

The food was incredible, especially the seafood, as it is so incredibly fresh. We had a private "barbecue" on our patio one night, which was actually an elegant feast of prawns, several types of fish, lobster, lamb, and beef, served by Rasika the butler and 4 chefs. Two days a week they have a fish market in front of the restaurant, you can choose the fresh fish you want and how you would like it prepared. At the restaurant they served traditional Sri Lankan food one night, which was delicious! The service was always impeccable.

We met the new manager, who had just arrived that week. He was extremely friendly and wanted a lot of customer feedback, which was wonderful to see.

We recommend the guided bike ride and tour of the nearby tea plantation. The whale watching was an amazing experience, but we had rough choppy seas and were on the boat for about 6 hours in search of whales. It was a slow whale day (which is uncommon), so I'd say go for it-- it's worth getting the chance to see a blue whale.

This property is one of the best Relais & Chateaux properties we have visited, and Sri Lanka is a must-see country.

Room Tip: Ask how many rooms you share a pool with-- some share with one other and some share with 2 others.

Our family spent over a week here in April. The children loved the resort pool and adjacent beach. The seawater was warmer than a heated pool. Bodyboards are provided free, as are snorkeling equipment, canoes, and bikes if you wish to tour the local area. If you just want to relax, the half-board option really includes all you could want and you don't need to pay for anything else. If you took the (unnecessary) full board option, you'd just spend all day eating. We were often finishing our large breakfast at 11am each day. We paid a bit extra for some add-ons through the resort’s Dive Centre - the kids learned scuba diving in the dive pool, we went out in the bay on a speedboat where they had a great time being towed on inflatable "banana boat" and "flying bed," and we took a boat out to sea for a 3 hour fishing trip despite my daughter being horrified of the thought of murdering fish. We saw many tuna jumping out of the water as they chased schools of smaller fish. (You can go on separate whale watching trips if you want to see something bigger jump out of the water.)

We have had many holidays throughout the Asian region in high-end accommodation and this was right at the top end of the quality range. I was sufficiently impressed to sit down and write my first Trip Advisor review. We took adjoining apartments ("Master" and "Family" suites) on the first floor of one of the buildings overlooking the main resort pool. Very pleasant rooms and lots of free movies for kids and adults.

Our butler Gayam was absolutely delightful and nothing was too much trouble for him. I had my birthday when I was there and he prepared a special 4 course seafood BBQ dinner in the private garden of our building with decorated, inscribed cake to finish. The food on that and all other nights was fabulous. Fantastic, large afternoon teas each day in the Pavilion with scones plus cakes & sandwiches. Good to use the resort gym after that. Daily laundry is included with clothes returned neatly ironed and folded by the same afternoon. Even the mini bar was included. There were no extra, "surprise charges" at the end of the stay.

I was also amazed by the almost complete absence of flies for our entire stay! The coastal sea breeze apparently blows them away. Saw about 5 flies over the course of a whole week. Wonder if it's like that year-round.

Views from the rooms were lovely. The views from the Tea Pavilion and main restaurant were incredible.

This place definitely has the highest recommendation from our family. We liked the cute folded towel sculptures like the elephant in the attached photo.

Room Tip: We stayed in Suites and they were great.

Two hours by road an a brand new highway from Colombo, lies Cape Weligama in the south of Sri Lanka ; deep blue green seas, steady cool breeze and the resort that made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The infinity pool on the first floor was our favorite place , the rooms were impeccably furnished and the food was a delight! The high tea every day was a treat, the sperm whales we saw were a delight and the brand new activity center took us on a diving trip ! If you are looking for a luxurious holiday - this is it!

Room Tip: The Weligama Residences are amazing !
