This is solely an ayurvedic resort with daily treatments, medicine and some opportunities for relaxation. I went for 2 weeks predominantly for sleeping difficulties, but unfortunately this wasn't fully addressed - i slept just 3 nights out of 14! The hotel itself is set in lovely surroundings and the staff are friendly and helpful. However the regime is very controlled, regimented and strictly scheduled and I found this to be rather uncomfortable - to me it felt a bit like prison!
Going as a single person was more difficult than i imagined - there was no-one to guide me around and for the first few days i felt very much left on my own. A little help from the staff to make solo guests feel more at ease, particularly in the dining room, would be a huge help.
The treatments themselves were good overall, but towards the end of the 2 weeks I'd had enough of being 'invaded', especially after the enema!
The food was EXCELLENT and I'm now cooking quite a lot of the dishes at home.
The rooms were ok - I booked a deluxe room but was given a single level room which was identical to a standard room, only a few feet longer and certainly not worth the extra cost. I moved to a split level studio room the second week and this was far better. Beware though, the studio room had an a/c unit but you get charged an extra 15 euros a day to use it! All the rooms have a ceiling fan but these are simply not adequate for the level of humidity and heat encountered.
Overall a different and interesting experience but not one that I would repeat. Next time i need a relaxing break I will find a quite, secure resort somewhere on the beach and just chill out!
