Me and my family availed the Ilocandia tour package which I saw in the website of Rio Grande Resort Hotel. We were 5, my husband and my 3 kids. We stayed in the Family room. The room was big enough for the 5 of us. They served us big breakfast everyday. The Pagudpud tour was unforgettable when we hiked to "kabigan" falls. We had lunch by the beach which was prepared by Rio Grande Resort which is part of the tour package. We had inihaw na fish, pinakbet which was the best, their Ilocos pansit guisado was perfect, you should try this, vegetable salad was just right for the meal. Staff of the resort were very friendly and helpful. The resort itself was clean, we'll maintained and the ambiance is a mix of Tagaytay and Baguio. You should visit Ilocos and stay in this resort. You will get your money's worth.

Room Tip: Rooms at the first floor is better specially if you have kids and senior citizen.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights for PHP 5,800.00. This promotional rate includes hotel accommodation, daily breakfast and daily tours for Pagudgud, Vigan and Laoag. What more can I ask for? Nothing ... Dr. Caluya, the owner, is a fine lady who attended to all our needs. She is very well-mannered and accommodating. Hotel owners should get proper training from her...

Hopefully, this hotel would have wifi connection when I get back ...

Room Tip: Try the bagnet sisig at Cafe Uno, Vigan. The mixture of spices is just exhilirating!!! From Viga...

My family of five stayed in this hotel for two nights. Our packaged tour, purchased from Ensogo via Three Kings Travel and Tours, included round trip fare from Manila, two-night hotel accommodation with free breakfast, and access to the mini pool.

Breakfast served for two mornings were delicious and very filling, and limitless at that. My two family members were more than satisfied with their second servings of breakfast. Although we were a bit cramped in the family room, w/c accommodates only a maximum of four heads per their post, I still consider our stay a perfect refuge after two day-long tours of sun-scorched Vigan - Laoag - Pagudpud. Guests overflowed the hotel during our first night. We must have been very lucky, we were not the ones refused accommodation. Maybe too, because we had our reservation ready as early as two months earlier.

The air condition in our room was just perfect. We had to adjust it to a higher temperature about an hour after we get in to make it more comfortable before everyone starts snoring the night away. I love the bathroom/comfort room set-up. The john was situated in between the cutey-little bathtub on the right and the shower with "timba at tabo" on the right. If guests are joining a group tour and have timed-activities.... if it ain't a problem with everyone to perform their symphonic bathroom/comfort room rituals , this set-up would be a big yes!

My only complaint however is that, I requested for an extra mattress about 7:30 am after breakfast, w/c was never attended to by the hotel. I made two follow-ups , the 1st follow-up was with the hotel owner's son himself. His final reply was "sige po" after I cleared up to him that I paid for five heads. The 2nd follow-up was at around 11 pm, with the same supervisor to whom I made a request , who replied "sasabihan ko yang si ...(I forgot the name he mentioned), napapahiya ako sa guests ah". But just the same, the extra mattress never came.

Other than the above discomfort we had, our stay was generally pleasant with their polite staff and good food served. General ambiance of the hotel and the club house where breakfasts were served was perfect too.

Room Tip: The rooms in the lower floors have stronger water supply .

Our stay with my husband in Rio Grande Resort Hotel was a very memorable experience for both of us. The place is so relaxing and very romantic for new couples like us. The room was just perfect, coozy and cool. The swimming pool was just infront of our room and there are a lot of trees. You can hear the birds in the morning. It is a very clean and well maintained resort. Also very nice for families with children. The staff are so friendly. The resort offers very reasonable day tours. The food too are good. We will never forget this place with my husband.

Not a good place to stay. No wifi, no cable. The buffet lunch and dinner is very expensive considering the very limited food they offer. They can't even serve bagnet which is a very popular food in Ilocos. The bottomless drinks cost 75 pesos for a powdered juice drink. Scary pool. the water was dark blue. they apply too much chlorine which is not good to the skin.

Our last overnight stay before heading up north to pagudpud, very quite resort even the guest are very quite at that time. Facitlties are great! pool is very clean dinning area is very clean and cozy, picnic area is very clean also, as usual my kids totally enjoyed (the pool) hehe.

Down side is the rooms, we got a family room, its very small for a family room, the comfort room is so small also the door when you open it will hit the toilet seat already. The free breakfast for four person but we arte 6 persons including the kids, we got 2 brekfast for free, the owner and her son was there also maybe that is why we got it for free coz my mom was talking to them on how great the resort is hehe.

The resort is very far from the city but its worth it, the quietness and the freshness of air, at the back of the resort is the laoag river, you can see fresh tiliapia and other fishes swiming. so we enjoyed the stay at rio grande.
