Jaimees Hotel & Resort
Reviewed January 28, 2013

My new wife and myself thought we would get away to a different area for our honeymoon. We definitely fulfilled the part about getting away from it all since this place is *very* secluded. The security guard makes sure of this fact too! When you actually get down to the beach, your hotel is the "have" side and right next door is the "have not" side, where dirt-poor people live. Everyone has a great beach to live on and use for sure. An actual Filipino beach with no rocks like this is hard to find! We got a room with a terrace. It added a lot due to the view, but the curtain always getting stuck under the glass door was a bit of a pain. The quality of the rooms is very good (probably near the top)--it even has hot water! They have flat screen televisions with cable, but I wouldn't go to Jaimee's for that. The main reason to visit is that you are entering a facility where you can very much escape the real world and get away from it all. I highly suggest visiting Monday-Thursday so that you don't have to deal with weekend families or parties/special events. We visited Thursday and Friday. Thursday was so far superior that we would never go again on any day other than the Monday-Thursday timeframe for sure. The cook is very good. Many items on the menu are out-of-stock so be prepared for less than half of the things to be available. Their main calling-card is the natural beauty of the location and the fabulous hotel appearance. There still is ongoing construction to an addition on the East Side--so the day hours can be tricky to maneuver around the workers and deal with a little extra noise. I think the lady who manages the place is married to the owner, but I am not sure. They said construction began in 2001-so it shouldn't take too much longer. Once everything gets finished, the rates will probably go even higher and you will have to deal with more other people. Therefore, if you really want to get away from everything, this is a good choice if you afford it!

Room Tip: Get one with a terrace!

Stayed there for 15 days and the service is consistently good. This is a family-owned resort and the owners would personally greet and welcome you to the place. Always asking for any more service they can provide. There's no service charge also if you prefer to have your food delivered to your room. Rooms are spacious and with nice beddings, fluffy pillows.

Swimming pools are cleaned daily. The grounds are also well kept.

Would be best if the wifi internet is accessible in the rooms. And free shuttle service upon arrival and departure would be nice to be added in the accommodation also.

Definitely will be back here.

We came accross this hotel by chance and what a lovely friendly welcome we got. All staff members were very friendly and helpfull. The owners came and greeted you and made you most welcome as did Bill's (the owner, another fellow Scot) 2 golden ladrador puppies.
The bedroom was nice, spacious and very clean, loved the lights at the bedside and the batroom was more than adequate.
Great stop over if in Massin especially if you have to go there to get your Immigration visa extension.
We shall be back !

Room Tip: No tip needed to chose a room as all rooms can accomodate as one requires.

We last stayed at Jaimee's two years ago and were pleasantly surprised at the improvements made and currently in progress. It was a pity the weather did not keep up its end of the bargain and rained throughout the beginning of June, however that didn't dampen our spirits. We always felt safe, minutes to Maasin City or in our circumstance close to our Family up in the mountains. We will most definitely be back in 2014 - see you then!

we spent 3 nights at Jaimees Hotel, its a fantastic place to stay when in Southern Leyte, all the staff were extremely friendly and the service faultless. The owners Imee & Jim ( a fellow Scotsman) cant do enough to make you welcome, such a friendly couple. Our room was very spacious with a large bathroom. The whole hotel is of very high standards with a great outdoor area with 2 swimming pools, jacuzzi, bar and great dining area with views out to sea. The food was excellent with a large menu, every meal we had was delicious, you wouldn't want to go anywhere else to eat after you've tasted Imee's cooking. There's also a gym if you need to work off Imee's large portions and an internet cafe. They can also provide an airport transfer from Tacloban which i requested, the driver was there waiting for me on arrival even at 5.40am. Neither of us could fault our stay at Jaimee's and look forward to staying there on our next visit, we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting this beautiful area of the Philippines.

My visit to the Jaimees Hotel was extremely pleasant. The room I had and the facilities on the premises were all well maintained. The staff were very friendly and the owners went out of their way to accommodate all requests. When I am next back in this part of the world, I most certainly will stay at this hotel again.
