Hotel is at the top of golden rock holy mountain. If you survive the high speed open truck ride and the hike for the last hour you arrive at the simple , basic but beautiful Mountain Top Hotel. As with all Burma staff are just lovely gracious and very helpful. The views are wonderful. Only downside are steep steps to many rooms, this is not a site or hotel for less able travellers , sadly access or facilities for disabled are absent in Burma. The hotel is next to Golden Rock shrine and although interesting and delightfull is not worth the 5 hour drive from Yangon. Restaurant in the hotel is simple, breakfast comprises of 1 egg, 1 piece of toast tea or coffee.

Room tip: All rooms are the same, nearer to reception will have less steps.

I had room 204 which was on the same level as 205 and 206 and they are
the closest rooms to reception. The only (minor) negative is that they can be
a bit noisy as everyone coming from the rooms lower down pass near
this block of rooms.
The room was well designed a comfortable with a mini-fridge and lots of
electrical outlets. It also had excellent lighting for reading in bed. The
hotel recommends you keep your windows closed due to the monkeys that hang
around. There was good hot water and decent wi-fi.

Be sure to order your dinner (menu lists entrees as well as set
dinners starting at 12,000 kyat) before you visit the Golden Rock for
Sunset. Tell the waiter what time you wish to eat or there will be a
long wait. When you arrive at the appointed time, a card with your
room number will be at a table, and your food arrives shortly
thereafter.

A la cart items from the menu can be split between two people as the
portions are huge. I had Set Menu #1 and it was 12000 kyat.

Room tip: Ask for a room close to reception as there are steep stairs to rooms lower down.
