This was our third visit in 15 months and it was just as wonderful. OK, there is not a hotel in the world that is completely perfect but this comes close to it. The service from all the staff and I mean all the staff is outstanding. There is a service ethos from the Resident Manager Kywa Swar which permeates all the way through the 138 staff serving the hotel.
The beach is wide, clean and deserted and the sea is warm and clear.
There is nothing quite as magical as watching the most perfect of sunsets with a drink on your veranda and then see the lights of dozens of fishing boats straddle the dark horizon when having your dinner.
There are a number of restaurants near the hotel but we found that the hotel's menu was varied, reasonably priced and the food was well cooked.
After our first visit and review in November 2011 I said that we would return and we have, twice.
I can say for certain that we will return again to our piece of paradise in Burma.

In November 2012 we made a three week long round trip to Vietnam and Burma and we had our final stop for recreation at Amazing Ngapali Resort Bagan. We had expected to relax at a nice hotel and our expectations were considerably exceeded.
The service of the very kind and alert staff made us happy and one thing that we appreciated was that everybody was so friendly and seemed to enjoy working there, there was in other words a very friendly atmosphere. All over the place everything was very clean and unusually well maintained and in good order.
The first two days we had a Deluxe Sea View room that was of good class and after that we stayed two days in a Suite Beach Front Villa where we enjoyed absolute top class accomodation.
The location of the resort is fantastic with quiteness, a huge beach and very few hotels nearby.
The things we appreciated most were the first class service, the excellent food, the friendly atmosphere and the location.

We stayed 4 nights and there are only good things to say. We had a great view from our first floor room. The bungalows are small house with 6 rooms. The beach is amazing and service very good. The dinner is fairly priced, as it is a hotel and the food average. You can find cheaper and good choices in town and across the street.

We stayed for five nights in the beachfront suite villa #J02, booked with the help of our wonderful travel agent Myanmar Shalom. The resort had a lovely sunset/ beach view and the benefit of it being close to the reception area, was that we could pick up the Wi-Fi in our room. I would not recommend villa #J01 because it was the least private of all of the ocean front villas and was next to the pool area/ hotel walkway to the beach.
Email correspondence with the reservation staff was excellent. The restaurant staff was also pleasant and the restaurant’s food was better in my opinion than the options across the street. They serve great soups and grilled fish. We did not like our two meals at the Sea Queen (the seafood was grilled to death and completely dry).
All in all, we had no complaints. It was a very nice place to stay with great management.

Room Tip: Stay in Oceanfront suites J02 and beyond because J01 is less private.

Wasn't sure what my thought were on this hotel until I started to relax. 2nd trip to Ngapali. Felt assured I found the hotel to be in Ngapali. Well designed and manicured hotel. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. All was in working order. Closer to the airport, which is usually a turn off, but not in this case. Beach was clean and felt private. Even though hotel was at high occupancy, it didn't feel that way.

Staff was always willing to help. Thiengi runs the front desk and is "amazing" at her job. She goes beyond to make sure you are comfortable. Naril is wonderful in the restaurant and also there to make sure you have the most pleasant experience. Could name others, but forget names. Staff made the difference.

Location is low key. Quiet with a few good safe and delicious restaurants within walking distance.
Highly recommend Sea Queen to the right of the hotel and Ocean Pearl to the right. Food was excellent as well as the service. Also had dinner at the hotel and very much enjoyed it. Service and attention was fantastic. Beach is safe and great for a swim. Was so comfortable here, felt so "Western" to be worried about locking my door. You are safe here. As in most of Myanmar.

Wifi is a bit of an issue. Should have travel plans worked our prior to avoid frustration of doing it online. This is the case in most of Myanmar which still has to build an internet infrastructure.

So liked my experience at the amazing Amazing Ngapali Beach hotel I would like to repeat the trip again this year. Enjoy while its still such a quaint intimate beach town.

Room Tip: Sea Views are great. My room was at the end of the hotel which afforded more privacy. Prefer upper...

A truly amazing stay! We stayed here one week and we would not hesitate to come back. A small swimming pool which is not needed because the beach is so nice and the water is crystal clear on sunny days. All the rooms are good, even the deluxe rooms. The restaurant has great seafood and other western food. The hotel isn't far from the airport or the other hotels which can be reached by foot. When airplanes land at the airport you can see them but you can't hear them.

This resort is only 5 minutes from the airport, so the transfer was fast, if a little bumpy in the old 1950s spruced up bone-shaker army vehicle. This hotel got so many things right in so many areas that I wouldn’t hesitate to return. Admittedly, some of things are beyond their control, like the surprisingly warm and therapeutic water of the Bay of Bengal and the deserted and private beach and the perfect ‘Goldilocks’ weather. The design of the villas and bungalows worked very well, and were of a size that allowed friends to gather on the decks for a chat or in the rooms after dinner for a nightcap. To be able to walk 7m from your deck onto the sand, straight to your own personal lounge chair and umbrella on the beach was too perfect – we spent most of our 2 days in this one spot, just stirring for sustenance. We enjoyed (and endured!) one of the best massages we’d ever had in the onsite spa and didn’t indulge in more only because the warmest ocean water since our visit to Fiji kept calling us! (And having the luxury of time to actually plough through a book was just too precious!)

Our first dinner was had in the resort restaurant – sharing a lobster and grilled vegetables. When placing the order, the waitress took us by the arm to the BBQ, all the while shaking her head. There was only one small lobster left in the large ice-filled viewing trough, along side the many fish, crabs and prawns. She was very concerned that our lobster was far too small to share, but it was sweet and tasty, and we were more than happy for the extra vegetables we were given to make up for the crustacean’s peachy puniness!

While ‘amazing’ is the brand name, it perfectly suits this resort. So few people here, so we loved the seclusion. We didn’t have a villa that opens directly onto the beach, we were in the row behind those, which actually makes very little difference whatsoever. In fact, we seemed to have more privacy than those who DO front straight onto the beach – their sun lounges are quite exposed to the rest of us on our recliners in front of them. At least we are not blocking their view – their lawn and bungalow are perched on a wall about 1.5 metres above the sand. We also were lucky with our room being on the ground floor – just stepping off the deck on to the stones and walkway that led to the beach, rather than negotiating stairs.

As there are lounges all along the beach, the ones directly opposite our rooms are always free. Looking out to sea, there is no one in your sightline, only fishing boats anchored close by and bobbing, their masters already finished for the day and gone home.

The staff here were the best we experienced in all of our Myanmar hotels, especially the ones in the restaurant. Nothing was too much trouble, no mistakes were made (which seemed to be a recurring theme in far too many other establishments), and they were so very friendly.

Room Tip: You really don't need to pay for the beach front villas - the row behind is just as lovely, and...
