After a week of travelling around Burma we were really looking forward to relaxing and taking everything in on the beach at the end of our trip.. and we weren't disappointed. Frankly we would have been happy with a shack and a mosquito net by that stage but to find a lovely hotel on an unspoilt beach with friendly and helpful staff to boot was just the icing on the cake. Our sea view room at Pleasant View was clean, spacious and priced accordingly. The provision and subsequent joy of hot water from a working shower was a luxury not to be sniffed at. Pretty much whatever we asked for we were delivered with a smile. The beach was quiet, we had sun beds to our amazement and a delicious breakfast every morning next to the quaint fishing village a few metres walk away - just idyllic. We chose this hotel as it was recommended by lonely planet as not having Government ties and it was perfect. The hotel has a restaurant on a tiny island which you walk to through the sea and the sunset from there is outstanding not to mention the delicious seafood. Next to our hotel were a few small food shacks too and for about £3 you could have the best King prawns I've ever tasted!

Room Tip: Best rooms are ground floor with sea view. It should take you less than 10 seconds to hit the sun b...

We spent three nights here and loved our experience so much we plan to return for longer next year. The hotel is situated right on the far end of Ngapali Beach adjacent to a small fishing village. The staff was friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was good but not fantastic. The hotel has a great restaurant on a small spit that in high tide is accessible only by boat. Sunset drinks and views from here are very good.

This hotel runs a free shuttle service to and from the airport. No need to reserve, just approach the hotel desk when you arrive. Hotel location is ok, close to local village. The beach is very shallow here, especially during low tide. Rooms are relaxing, but air conditioning is miserable and off service from 7 am to 2 pm. We asked for another room as it was too humid and hot in the first one, but found out that all air conditioners have been triggered to blow slightly cool air at best. The hotel restaurant in the tiny island on front of the hotel is highly recommended although we saw rats running around both times we went there. Hotel spa is over priced and a disaster. I have never had such a bad massage, you are better off giving a massage to yourself..

We stayed for 3 days and had 1 day at Amazing Ngapali (due to no vacancies ) I would have thought the difference in price that Pleasant View would be nice but Amazing Ngapali would be much better . Not the case we found Pleasant View much more relaxing ( we had bungalow right at the end near the dining room .) The staff were lovely and attentive the bungalow very trendy and would have cost 3 times that amount anywhere in Australia . Only drawback was got very hot in evening not sure why we did not have ceiling fans running off solar system as a/c only came on for 4hrs in evening .
Great location and we loved the fact it was next to a fishing village we actually mixed with the locals and saw how they live . If people do not want that why travel ? You can go anywhere and sit on beach .
Restaurant was fantastic only slightly more than steet cafes but absolutely beautiful ''The garlic seafood " dish was to die for ! We found friendly cafe on the street very nice also .
Reasonable and great massages . Special memories of the lovely ladies that sell fresh fruit on the beach and I think it may be the only resort to let them do this .
We also loved the beach cafes so close . Lots of the other resorts have loads of tour groups that are totally isolated from any contact with the locals only eating in their hotels . At least staying here and buying of the locals you are helping these people as the fisherman are very poor as we witnessed and work extremely hard any extra the women can bring them will help there lives .
Gorgeous beach great resort . Incredibly relaxing .

Room Tip: Book miles ahead and get beach bungalow . We had 101 . Very private and could catch all the action o...

Perfect name for this resort, it is pleasant but not more than that. It is expensive as everything in Ngapali but the beach is so fantastic that in the end it is 100% worthwhile. Area of the beach is super nice, the stone walk connected bar & restaurant 100m inside the ocean is breathtaking. Room amenities and breakfast are very nice. It is one of the cheapest options to stay right on the beach. But too expensive for what it is.

Room Tip: Not all the bungalows are equally sea front, mine was kind of lateral. Ask for a frontal one.

We stayed here in Feb for three days and had a beach view from the 2nd floor. Rooms are very comfortable and clean with air con/fan. We didn't stay in the room much as the beach was lovely with the many local beach restaurants to also dine in or watch the sunset from. The resort had a restaurant for breakfast (which is the one thing that was mediocre) but the island restaurant made up for this with sweeping views and great seafood on offer. We hired bikes from the resort and went exploring at the local fishing villages, it was such a sight to wake up and wander down the beach and see the locals with the baskets of catches of the day. We will definately come back again

Room Tip: Any room would be good as all rooms have a view

Stayed here for the final 4 nights of 21 in Burma. Couldn't have chosen a better place. It is at the southern end of the beach and just about the final hotel heading south from the airport. There are a few negatives - there is no pool, which doesn't bother us but some may find disappointing, the grounds are a bit "rough" and not quite as nicely manicured as some of the other resorts up the beach and the area does seem to attract a number of feral dog packs. Apart from this the resort has one major advantage in that there is no such thing as a "bad" room - all the rooms face the sea and have an identical view. I noticed that in some of the other resorts there were beach-view bungalows and then others that were set well back in the resort with no sea view. Breakfast was good and the chef prepares different items for the buffet each day. Other reviewers have mentioned the smell of drying fish from the nearby village, but we didn't smell anything.
The thing we enjoyed most about staying at Ngapali beach was the fresh seafood. The resort has its own restaurant on a little island but when I checked out the prices I noticed that the same things were 3 times more expensive than nearby restaurants. So I figured it's the same fish, landed at the same time (about 6am) and bought from the same market so we ate at either the shacks on the beach next to the resort, or on the road behind the hotel - there are two restaurants and the Blue Sea was excellent. The advantage of eating at the restaurants (as opposed to the shacks) is that if more than 2 groups turn up then the staff can cope with the crowd!
If/when we return to Burma I would love to stay here again.
