After staying at Thande River View in Bagan I was smart enough to choose the same at Ngapali. I stayed in a very comfortable and spacious room with see view and lovely sun beds on a private balcony. The bathroom is also spacious and nice. There’s a closet with lots of space in between. The staff is friendly and very efficient.
Breakfast is excellent, fresh juices eggs brown bread delicious French croissants and muesli with apple juice.
Thande is also at the best location of the beach near the restaurant area. You can make nice walks along in both directions.
Everything works and looks harmonious in this lovely place.

Not a bad resort, but they really need to start investing to bring it up to par with what there now is available elsewhere on Ngapali beach. I would start with new mattrasses. Burmese mattrasses are hard as wooden boards and this ruins every night's sleep. Counter productive to holiday making....

Ive stayed 6 times at this hotel which is right on the Ngapali Beach. The staff are very attentive and always smiling. Ive always stayed in the 1st or 2nd row of the property and love the easy access to the beach. the food at the hotel is "ok" but there are lots of options a short walk along the beach side. Seagull seafood restaurant is my favourite. I recommend hiring a local fisherman boat through the hotel (US$ 35 - Jan 2018) and taking a trip around the Island and perhaps doing some fishing. The hotel will ensure a boat that is in better condition than what you will get if arranging via some of the people offering the same service along the beach.

Room tip: front row rooms have great beach access

We booked the (cheaper) rooms at the back for 60 euro a night. Rooms are depressing, no decoration at all. Only wood on the walls and one big mirror. Not cosy at all. Lightning is terrible. Bathroom is old and whole floor is getting wet when you take a shower. No water pressure. WiFi at room is really bad.
However breakfast and service staff is really great. They know what hospitality means.
We heard next year there will be a renovation for these rooms. I hope they do and untill that time they make these rooms cheaper. Maximum 30 euro is my opinion. Overall: service is great, but 60 euro for the rooms at the back is not worth it! So let's go for the renovation!

We had a spacious comfortable room (bed a bit hard, but otherwise very good) at this complex on the beach. The location is excellent - close to the only group of independent and well-priced restaurants on the beach. The included breakfast is served in a lovely outdoor restaurant overlooking the beach. A plentiful supply of beach chairs, friendly staff - all in all, an excellent value on a fabulous beach.
