Located not far from the wonderful Pindaya caves, this hotel offers rooms in cottage style. The double rooms are good, the single rooms need an update. The restaurant offers good food, but can be a bit slow when busy. Staff is very friendly, and will do whatever possible to make your stay pleasant. Right across the street are a few nice restaurants on the banks of the lake. All in all good value for money.

Well spaced individual bungalows pretty gardens lovely large swimming pool. Good sized room ,well furnished with a strange rather unfinished looking bathroom but it functioned well enough. Very average breakfast particularly if you are not keen on rice/noodles at that time of the day. Orange squash, underdone toast and jam , and fruit were about it. Shabby dining room too. Probably the best place to stay for the Pindaya caves but the chanting from the nearby monastery during the night was tiresome

If you want a quiet place to stay, Pindaya, rather than Kalow, is a good place to stay and Conqueror Resort is a great choice of a hotel.

I spent one night here as part of my tour package; so I don't know about the cost of the cottage. I had a superior room, and it was quite superior--large, clean, nicely decorated. The patio off the back is a great place to relax in the evening or morning--or any other time if you stay longer. The grounds are lovely, and the view of the mountain and monastery/cave is beautiful. I didn't plan to swim, but I walked to look at the pool. The "dirt" in it is droppings from the trees; so I wouldn't call it dirty. I would probably choose to swim with my head above water.

Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Dinner was quite nice, although breakfast was disappointing, as I'm not an egg lover and that was the only choice.

Since it's out of town, the hotel is very quiet. It's an easy walk to town, and the lake is nice to visit and walk around.

Conqueror is the closest hotel to the caves. The cottages are located in such a way that you could view all the three caves from each cabana. Cabanas are very comfortable and clean. The staff is very friendly and they joined the local band to sing. The General manager too snag till we retired to our rooms for the night.

Contrary to negative comments by other travellers, I find this hotel a 'luxury' in the midst of rural state.
Located at the rural plateau of the Sourthern Shan State, the place is ideal for urbanites who are seeking peace and quiet. There are verandahs at the front and back of each room, which is perfect for afternoon snooze in the nice cool breeze.
The hotel staffs are very attentive and observant, and will rush to your help whenever you need one. E.g. fetching you umbrella in the drizzle or helping the elder guests with heavy luggages. It seemed that tipping isn't a norm in that area of Myanmar cuz the staff looked surprised when we tipped her for her good service.
Dinner is good with simple authentic local food. Ambience is perfect with a Shan musician performing on traditional musical intruments throughout dinner.
Electricity is turned off at certain hours of the day. It is ok understanding that the hotel depends on generator to facilate electricity.
The swimming pool might appear dirty as commented by other travellers but i believe those are only dregs of the unfiltered mountain water. Personally, I won't swim when the weather is cool.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay and will definitely recommend this to friends.

Although the rooms were OK, the garden was well kept and the lobby area was neat and clean, we were quite disappointed with the back of the hotel, namely the swimming pool. It was under maintenance and full of dirty water, so we couldn't use it. You can walk to the amazing Pindaya caves and a visit to the center of the city is also a nice afternoon excursion, if you come back from the city to the hotel you can use a horse carriage for a few bucks, town turns dead after 7 PM so don't go too late. Hope they fix the pool then this hotel would be recommended. Great garden if you like flowers.

We stayed one night in order to see the Caves and at the entance to the road to the caves this is a great location. On first impressions the set up is good too with a well laid out complex of bungalows and a traditionally designed central unit.
The catch for us was that in February at night and in the morning in this area it is extremely cold. The bungalows had hardly any insulation and no heating. It was very cold. The restaurant was basic. The saving grace was as nearly everywhere in Myanmar the staff were extremely good and friendly.
With even limited investment inlcuding air conditioners in the bungalows that heat as well as cool thishotel could improve significantly.

Room Tip: any one with heating!!!
