We stayed two nights here, and went for a two day trek organised by the hotel.
Our room was large (a superior room), clean, nicely decorated and covered with flower petals. It was a bit chilly at night. But the service was excellent, and breakfast was pretty good. We paid $35.
My only gripe would be the trekking guide. We organised this through the hotel, which I really regret as it turned out our guide (who we only met at the start of the trek) didn't speak any English! This made for rather limited guiding! The food on the trek was great, but I really feel we missed out by not being able to communicate with the guide. He seemed pretty sullen the whole trek, as though he'd prefer to be elsewhere, and at the end of the trek walked off without a second glance or even a goodbye! I would 100% recommend Pindaya for treking though - beautiful and not another tourist in sight!
My biggest regret of our whole Burma trip was that we didn't meet U Myint Thaung before our trek and use his guiding service, as recommended by Lonely Planet (for once they were right!). We bumped into him as we left and he was a fascinating guy with an interesting history. His number is 081 66188.
