“Plenty of meat, but too much salt”
Reviewed September 7, 2013 via mobile

Visited yesterday was very impressed with the amount of chicken in the dish but it was too salty. My girlfriends dish wasn't as good as mine. We may be being a bit snobby considering the amount of good Indians we have in England but the Nans weren't amazing either. Have to give them credit for being the only, fairly decent Indian restaurant in phon saven tho. Starters quite tasty.

“Unexpectedly good Indian food in Phonsavan”
Reviewed August 13, 2013

Indian food is one of my most favorite foods in the world and it has been very hard to find in our sojourn through S.E. Asia. The last place I expected to find it was Phonsavan, Laos. My husband and I ate here 3 times in 1 1/2 days. Yes, the food is excellent.

The place is definitely nothing fancy - stained ceilings, plywood walls, but it feels cleans and at the end of the day, that's what matters. My husband ordered the curry chicken three times but I tried various vegetarian dishes and ended last night with a fish masala. We ordered the garlic naan bread all 3 times which was very good. The vegetarian dishes were all excellent - my favorite was the spinach and mushroom in a green sauce. Top it off with the homemade mint sauce and it is divine.

I have to say that if I ignored the surroundings and even the town, I would be very happy with this food anywhere in the world. And who can complain about the price - the most we spent with beer was 100,000 kip - about $13. Some meals were as low as $8, even with beer.

The owner's wife is the cook and he is the server. Absolutely delightful and so helpful. He made sure we got picked up by our driver at the hotel and that we didn't get stuck without a tuk-tuk or paying a higher charge because it was night-time. We felt very taken care of which was a nice feeling on top of a fabulous meal.

“Multi-Tasking Marvel”
Reviewed July 19, 2013

This is a really solid bet in a town where good food is not easy to find. The lady running the place does everything so don't expect the service to be attentive and if it's busy the food may take a while. However, what you get is really authenitic Indian food plus some western dishes, very good value for money and delicious meals. What more could you ask for....

“Reliable Indian cuisine”
Reviewed July 6, 2013

There are Nisha's in every major city in Laos. A variety of curries and breads are listed on the menu. In Phonsavan, Western breakfast is also available since many guesthouses do not provide breakfast. There are few places to eat in town so people bounce between Nisha, Craters, and Bamboozle

“Great for breakfast and dinner!”
Reviewed June 23, 2013

We ate here 3 times throughout our stay in Phonsavan, the Indian breakfast is the best, order a range of plain and stuffed Dosai and some vegetable samosas. The service can be a little slow, but that's because everything is made fresh and the owners are really friendly! It's very reasonably priced with a curry and rice costing around 30,000 kip, less than £3 each!
