This could be made into a wonderful hotel but it is in need of renovation as the rooms are scruffy. The shower was good, comfortable bed and air conditioning but you get 2 bent coat hangers on a hook and no stowage space for your suitcase. The decking overlooking the river was a good spot for a group meal and the breakfast was average. Service at dinner was slow and the staff need training to bring more than one drink at a time.

Reception staff were friendly and welcomin

Room Tip: They all have stunning views so no need to worry about this - some of our party had to change rooms...

We just stayd there for one night, but it was very good. Everything looks new, the rooms are very big and the service staff was really friendly with good english.
The breakfast was very delicious and it had a wide variety of food. I would definetly go again if I could and this hotel has everythin which I would expect for the room price and hotel category.

Stayed here on two consecutive Stag weekends on two different years tubing down the River.
Great location, great balcony for beers and dinner ( and Fines sessions). Standard did not change....well done.
Staff were wonderful, easy walk into town, rooms nothing fancy but all you need for the area

We stayed here for 2 nights and did not regret it.The view from our room and from the restaurant was superb,
We had breakfast and dinner twice - with a spectacular sunset - just next to the river. It was quiet at night.
There were two chairs and a small table on our balcony.
Wifi worked well in the lobby.
You can walk to the town or to the other side of the river.

We originally went to a more highly rated hotel and cancelled our booking immediately after a quick walk around. I've never done that before but we were so disappointed. The Elephant Crossing hotel was what we were expecting in Vang Vieng and we loved it.

The views are the best. We went to some more expensive ones and they just didn't have the view! The garden is so lovely with frogs galore. The lounge is a lovely area to sit in. The wifi worked well even though the owner said I could go to her other ( more expensive) hotel just a block down the road to use the internet.

The staff went out of their way - they had amenities behind the desk so you just have to ask for a toothbrush if you have forgotten one. I guess they just don't put unnecessary things in the room. The filtered water is encouraged to be taken to refill your water bottle so top marks for eco awareness.
We were too late for one of the superior rooms but these really are beautiful. We had a standard room which was small but no smaller than one of the more highly rated hotels which didn't have any of the pluses of the Elephant Crossing.
Breakfast was beautiful and couldn't have a had a lovelier setting.

Don't forget you are travelling in a very poor country and service may not be quite the First World standard but the Lao people do try their hardest and appreciate smiles and a Sabaidee.

The hotel was very busy when we were there with lots of Lao holiday makers which was great to see.

The hotel also scores for being in the right location - out of the party zone, near the best handicraft shops and near the toll bridge for excursions to the other side of the river which is my favourite place to go for cycling and walking.

Room Tip: If you have mobility problems there are rooms on the ground and first floor and the first floor has...

You walk out side in the morning for breakfast, and have a beautiful view of the mountains, river, it is so picturesque, words just cant describe it. Room was always clean, food was nice too.
Not really a kids friendly hotel, however our boy is 10, so it wasnt to bad.
The restaurant is situated on the river, so great for a few drinks too.

Room Tip: Take insect repelant if you are easily bitten.

Great service and very hospitable wait staff. The dinner tables are situated on the outside balcony overlooking the river which is really nice. I would highly recommend it for a romantic dinner with your significant other.
