I was first assigned room C-6 on the 3rd floor which was a small room with a double bed. It had a nice view of the river and mountains. I had a chance to look in room C-7 when staff was cleaning. This was a much larger suite-type room with the same view. I paid an extra 200,000 kip ($25.) a night to upgrade. The room was more than double the size of a standard room, with a longer balcony, an extra sink, two double beds, a coffee/tea set-up, some easy chairs and extra bottled water provided. The bathroom was identical to the one in room C-6. C-7 was very comfortable and roomy.
Staff are friendly and speak English well. The owners, who live on-site, might be Australian.
The hotel has a good restaurant overlooking the river. I enjoyed several meals and especially liked their cashew chicken. Rice is ordered extra. The breakfast buffet is good.
Prices in Kip, USD, Thai Baht and Euro are printed on all receipts and you can use any of these currencies to pay your bill.
Stay for at least two nights as there are nearby caves to explore, you can go tubing down the Nam Song River, take a boat ride on the river and explore the town. I saw numerous rock climbers and trekkers while tubing on the river.More
