“Scenic Views + A/C = Bliss in the Hot Season”
Reviewed April 21, 2014

This hotel is a definite pick in the hot season. It's blessed wih gorgeous views of the river and mountains! And for the hot season, the rooms have powerful air conditioning! The A/C was more than adequate to cool the room, and we even had to turn it down because it was too cool at some points.

The location is great -- just cross the bridge to the right when you exit the hotel to visit some of the local caves.

Spent only one night in this hotel and travelled with two children. The place is ideally located close to the town centre, near the river and right next to the bridge that leads to the caves. The view to the mountains is wonderful and the garden and the pool area are well maintained although rather small.

We have never experienced this level of service anywhere in Laos. The reception staff, the waiters, the breakfast service and even the gardener were very kind and helpful and what's unusual in Laos they all knew their duties and were confident in serving us. Very good experience.

Wifi worked ok and one password can be used on multiple devices and for all their available networks.

The pool is very clean but make sure you wear googles as they are adding tons of chemicals to prevent the green algae in the water.

The only are of improvement was the bad smell in the room and some black mould spots on the wall. Looks like a broken or leaking waterpipe keeping the wall damp? We kept the door to the balcony open but that's just a workaround not a fix. It was in room LL5.

Overall Riverside Boutique Resort seems to be one of the highest quality accomodations in Vang Vieng if not the highest. Enjoyed our stay there and will be back later.

Dear guest, we are most grateful for your kind words about our level of services. At the same time, we are extremely sorry that you experienced a bad smell in the bathroom. We wish you had notified us right away as this would have been easy to fix. We have since then adjusted our procedures to make sure that such issues are picked up by housekeeping before guest check-in. We very much hope for a chance to see you again at Riverside. Best regards,

I wonderful hotel set in an ideal location to the town centre. It certainly provides the serenity needed after a day out and about in Siem Reap.

The rooms are wonderful with the best shower I have experienced anywhere in my travels.

The staff are extremely attentive and made our stay just that little bit more special.

All the reviews are true, this is the #1 place to stay

We visited this hotel from the 2 April till 4 April 2014. Wow what a wonderful stay. on arrival we were well received by the manager and his team and allocated a room overlooking the wonderful pool and river. It is slightly pricey in terms of the options available in Vang Vieng but well worth paying the little bit extra for the peace and quiet. The centre of town is all but a 10min walk or alternatively the hotel provides bikes as an easier means of transport. Breakfast included in the room fee was also well prepared with a decent array of options. Overall a good hotel with pleasant staff.

Very well located near the river and facing the montains it is the place to stay to enjoy a relaxing time after long day of outside activities;the rooms are nicely designed with pool and mountains views and a large balcony;the service is very good due to the great efficiency of the manager who is always around coaching the staff;the restaurant is excellent and offer a very good and tasty Laotian food;the buffet diner around the pool with traditionnal dances is a must do;breakfast offers a large choices of food;unfortunately we only stayed 2 nights there so maybe we have to come back!!

I loved loved loved this hotel. I didn't want to leave.

I had booked one of the guesthouses in hopes that I would be able to meet people as a solo traveler. I was pretty horrified at the conditions there and turned around to come to river view that I had seen on my ride into town. It was so welcoming, esp after that other experience. Even as a solo person, I never felt uncomfortable. It's a great place for honeymooners and the view is just incredible. The food is great and I would recommend just eating at the hotel. Vang vieng doesn't really have any good restaurants. They get most of the fresh food from the mulberry farm. I was amazed when the manager drove me to the farm himself, after I couldn't find a tuk tuk. They are so accommodating and I will tell all my friends to come here.

Vang Vieng is NOT my "Cup of Tea" It is busy town of cheap restaurants, noisy bars and cheap guest houses catering to the back packer crowd , not that we grumpy older folk see anything wrong with that ! its just NOT our scene (can't remember if it ever was !) HOWEVER ! the Riverside Boutique Hotel IS our scene . This hotel is a visual and comfort paradise !

From the moment we checked into our upper floor , pool, river, and moutain facing room we were in Heaven ! I have never stayed in any hotel with better views than this one ,

If I was to choose a place to end my days it would be here, Looking from our room across the manicured lawns, across the river and towards the dramatic limestone peaks in the distance was amazing.

For the first few hours we sat on our balcony starring AGOG! at the view. The dusty little approach road to the hotel is deceptive, once you are through the gates it is a different world,
we spent hours watching children and families enjoying the river, washing , playing, fishing .

There is a "bamboo" bridge ( not really bamboo these days ) that you can use to cross the river for a small fee, it is used by all kinds of vehicles and pedestrians and leads to some nice river bank walks and if you wish to you can cross back over smaller bridges to get into the town.

The main street near the hotel has every kind of shop required and if you walk towards the river in the hotel grounds , turn right and right again you come to another hotel with a very attractive restaurant and bar terrace overlooking the river.

Breakfast is taken in an upstairs room overlooking the river and mountains and is very high quality.

At night the trees in the grounds are lit with lanterns and the effect is quite magical.

I could easily spend weeks at this hotel and just CHILL! Wev cannot wait to come back here and it would be a good place to end your days! There goes the age thing again !
