This hotel is absolutely beautiful, and we were lucky enough to stay in the suite facing the mountains and the river. On one side we also had a view of the pool.

The service from the reception, to housekeeping to the restaurant staff was all excellent.

It was a wonderful place just to relax, and enjoy the natural scenery.

Their spa isn't open yet, but you can go to the resort across the way which has an excellent facility.

Room tip: Stay in the suite!

Where to start. Riverside Boutique resort is one of those places you can't adequately describe as far as the setting. The view is superb. On first entering the resort it looks quite simple and small. Wow. The minute you walk into reception the staff are just delightful and ever helpful. The reception area is clean and simple but welcoming. We were shown to our Room (LL3) directly opposite the pool on the ground floor looking straight out from our balcony to "the view". A lovely roomy, clean, light well appointed room with a very clean good size bathroom. A brief but adequate run down on facilities in the room and location of the restaurant and bar. Perfect. The view just draws you in and you will want to keep, looking at it. The restaurant is located on the second floor in a separate building a very short walk from the rooms. great...no dining room noise. A very good breakfast selection and the staff and service excellent. Sit on the balcony and yes you guessed it, look at the view. The view....includes not only the lovely garden with the pool as it's centre piece but looking across the Nam Xong River flowing past the fenceline across to the beautiful limestone karsts which seem to constantly change color. The bar downstairs is the same size as the restaurant and beautifully appointed. A late afternoon gin or evening latte perhaps. We felt special at this place. One of the staff even spent time with our daughter showing her how to fold their special napkins. Tthis resort is close enough to town to walk and we felt very safe. It's only about 5 minutes into the centreof town, ten if you are slow. There are some little stalls one minute away at the corner if you need a snack. We crossed the toll bridge which is right outside the entrance and walked through the village following the signs to Blue lagoon. You come out into an area with rice fields and get a great 180 degree view across to the limestone karsts with local cows and chooks around you. In the afternoons you can watch local children fishing and swimming in the river from the lawn area. And at night they have a huge tree next to the restaurant lit up with lanterns. Delightful.

Room tip: I would go for a room looking directly at the view - opposite the end of the pool. The rooms at the side of the pool don't look at the view. Possibly upstairs but it wouldn't matter. This place is A1.

The Riverside Boutique Resort is in a great location on the Xam Thong River, the limestone cliffs provide a stunning backdrop. The rooms are large, the majority with balconies overlooking the pool and river. The hotel is walking distance to the town. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My only criticism is that the restaurant and bar prices are more expensive than other hotels - for example a big Beerlao generally would be 10,000 - 15,000 kip but here it was 30,000 kip. Also the hotel was offering 1/2 day kayaking for $84, whereas in the town I booked it for $11. I would stay in the Riverside Boutique Resort again because the setting is truly impressive and the swimming pool fabulous.

Very nice, clean and comfortable hotel. Nice beds and the very friendly staff.
Great swimming pool, lovely breakfast. The food is very expensive. However just next door is Villa Nam Song and they serve Fabulous food, fresh and well prepared. The pricing is very good and surely a bargain for visitors. We ate there during the day and at night--both really enjoyable. Villa Nam Song has also a very good wine selection. The house wine is also very good and by glass not expensive.

This hotel is only twelve months old Rooms are huge with a magnifficant view over the pool river and mountains. Hotel is close to town, rooms are cleaned spotlessly and wifi is fast and free in every room. This hotel sets the standard that all the others should aspire 10 out of 10

Room tip: Deluxe rooms on the second floor (LL5) have the best view even though all rooms have a view
