We stayed here for a total of 8 nights and we payed 30,000kip per person private room for 3 pax but got a discount in the end. The hostel is family ran and they were all very friendly, Check out the rooms towards the end for these are newer. Best location right smack in the middle of the intersection just across the sandwich/shake stands. Plus side is that their four friendly dogs follow you around to guard you especially at night! I just hope that they will work on their wifi connection where its only available in the common areas. Would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: Request a room at a higher floor and away from passageways. Best rooms at the back part!

I didn't end up staying here, but I did get to meet the owner and she was extremely nice. I was very, very lost and looking for the Thai embassy and ended up stopping at Vieng Vilay and asking the landlady for directions. After chatting for a bit, she offered to drive me to the embassy and pointed out some guesthouses nearby where I could stay. That gesture alone in my opinion deserves a positive review.

The location itself doesn't seem bad, the rooms are cheap and seem well-maintained for the price. The only downside: no wifi.

This is a great place to stay in Vang Vieng, and the place is huge so there are plenty of options to choose from.

We took up a double ensuite room with fan on the top floor for 60,000 kip. It was clean, spacious and had recently been refurbished.

This place is in a great central location as you have plenty of restaurants and bars within easy reach, a decent rental place across the street and the tubing rentals just down the street.

Another great thing about this place is that it's family run, and the lady who seems to run it, if not slightly nuts, is really friendly and even discounted our journey to Vientiane because we had spent 4 nights there.

For those looking for somewhere a little quieter I'd recommend to request a room on a higher floor and one away from the stairwells and main passageways.

Probably the best hostel in Vang Vieng, location-wise. The rooms are not the best though. They are old, but the staff keeps it clean all the time. The Internet is actually pretty good, for Vang Vieng where most connections suck. Best to check the rooms first before checking in. I ended up staying here for a week though because the owner is friendly, lovely lady who's been really helpful. I wouldn't mind staying here again.

The owner lady is friendly and helpful, she is good in english speaking. We stay in a single room since the charge just 30k rip per person per night. However, we found that the toilet piping is leakage all the time. The air circulation is poor in fan room due to window is blocking by neighbour building. Stay if that's no choice or you just look for a bed to lay down.

We arrived in Vang VIeng unsure of where to go, and quickly came across Vieng Vilay. The room for 2 was a very reasonable price. The first room we were shown wasn't that good, but we went with the second one and spent 4 nights there. It was a comfortable bed and basic room with shower room, but you can't expect much for the price when you consider you are in a backpacker party area. A couple of guests played loud music on the balcony but it was all done by midnight. We didn't get much noise from the street at all, and the guesthouse is a fiarly central location for tour operators, shopping, bars and restaurants.

The owners were lovely - especially the woman and her son. Both were very welcoming and helpful! It isn't luxury but I don't think many places are in Vang Vieng unless you want extortionate prices.

Room Tip: Top floor towards the end of the corridor seemed to have less noise
