Tuk tuk prices will leave you slack jawed. We stood on the dirt road on the edge of town at around 11 o clock (plenty of people heading that way around then) because there was only 2 of us
we jumped in with 3 girls heading to the lagoon and renogotiated the agreed rate with their driver between 5 (still 30k each) so everyone was happy. Worth it for a fun day. Cave blew us away and lazing around the lagoon with a beer afterwards felt just right.

Kind of amazed such place can be found in Laos!

The water is crystal clear and in blue color and you can actually swim with the fishes and jump down from the tree into the water. There is also ropes that you can swing along (something to play off like Tarzan). Truly enjoyable! Love it so much~

Note: Actually no need to engage with local tour to get there (but we didn't do the research properly and paid some USD to the local tour). Some of the tourist just rent a bicycle and pay 10,000 Kip for cave and blue lagoon admission.

you'll have to spend some 30mins by taxi (which is actually a lorry) to get there from town. while the lagoon is nice, quiet, and water is cool, it can get really crowded (saw 2 near accidents someone jumping into water narrowly missed someone else in the water) and there isn't a lot of things to do there. although it does make quite a nice picnic ground..
route to the cave is steep. you definitely need a torch in there- don't be stubborn and refuse to rent that torch at the foot of the hill.

Must visit while in Vang Vieng. We went by mountain bike which seems to give the perfect amount of time to enjoy scenery, but the rd is poor. Cave is worth the trek and walking in deeper than the buddha feels like a genuine adventure. Jumping into the beautiful swimming hole from the tree is also essential.

I had a mountain bike and found it quite a way to the cave so would recommend either you go by taxi/tuk tuk or hire a moped. Road was quite bumpy along the way. Blue lagoon was nice, it's like a river with lots of people swimming and jumping off the tree into the water - there is food and drink for sale and music playing. I was much more impressed with the cave. Lots of steep challenging steps to get there but once up inside its crazy how long and hollow it is considering how high above sea level it is. Good visit.
