My girlfriend and I booked in advance from fairly positive reviews. The building is located toward the south (?) end of Vang Vieng and is one block from the river in a quieter part of town. Overall it seems the building is on the newer side of the scale and is well kept.
The owners greeted us warmly when we arrived and were able to provide solid advice about what to do including directions. I especially like that they did not try and funnel us into a tour and recommended we hire a bike ourselves, what we intended to do anyway.
Our room was fairly spacious, including the bathroom... by asian standards. Everything was clean and in working order. Otherwise, amenities were fairly spartan. Breakfast was included each day with an egg dish and serve of meat that was a nice sized portion and well cooked.
Overall, the hotel and staff are nice but it is not the place to stay if you want to meet other people.
